Boris scares me a bit. He is a social Liberal and made a decent fist of running London, but he has a problem with the truth – see the £350 million a week to the EU lie. In addition, he speaks without thinking – for me his Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe gaffe was particularly unforgivable – it had a real consequence for a real person.

He's an upper class buffoon with no connection at all to the working classes of this country. Very privileged. How anyone can think he has any interest in most folk who post on here is beyond me.

How does where a person come from have any bearing upon his or her ability to 'connect' with the 'working classes'? Tony Benn started out as Viscount Stangate.

What about Johnson's actions says that he can't 'connect'.

You are from a working class area Cur, but I see no evidence of connection with the "working classes"

He's never experienced poverty or trying to make ends meet. He has never had to graft for his wealth. He has no interest in the working classes. He has been involved in anti union policies. Tony Benn in contrast has fought campaigns for the working classes. He has stood on picket lines. He has spoken at ralleys for working class causes viscount or not. HAve you seen Boris on a picket line or a miners' rally? Come on Kerr I could go and on if you want your argument does not stand up at all. You must do better.

You can't keep on with this "we are all equal and everything is fair in the world" tripe. It just doesn't stack up.

But then again you know this and you are just trying to wind up Rolymiller. More fool me for biting.

Please don't give me a deflective reply because I will ignore it. If you were a cricketer you would score all your runs at fine leg.

If not having known poverty or trying to make ends meet means that someone can't 'connect' with the working classes then, by analogy, you don't think that Labour MPs who have never run a business would be able to 'connect' with employers. You would have to do that wouldn't you?

What anti-union policies has BoJo been involved in? The Tories generally have tended to curb union powers, largely by requiring them to act democratically.

If he gets in he will be our version of trump. I watch the news on TV and see the likes of trump and Boris in powerful position and think it's like chuffin cartoon characters running the western world. It's surreal. You really can't make it up.

Are you referring to Boris Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson by any chance?
