My dad played against him in a county cup schools match when they were both 14-15 in Yorkshire.

Dad said they were two excellent and evenly matched sides in a game that my dad’s side lost 0-7.

All 7 goals scored by Kevan who my dad described as being like a grown man amongst boys of his own age.......an absolute beast and the only difference between the sides.

I only saw Derek play once in a testimonial when he was about 54,it might’ve been Stuart Naylor’s testimonial if memory serves me correct,Alan Buckley was our manager at the time and he and his “tea leaf” son both played.

Derek was a brewery rep at the time and as round as a barrel and didn’t trouble the scoreboard but what a legend.

To be fair that's a good list apart from the ones mentioned negatively after.

I'd agree Martyn Bennett, Graham Williams and what about Graham Lovett, prior to his car accident, - a majestic player

Burrows only played a few games because he was such a talent that Liverpool signed him young from us!

I played Sunday football with Dave’s uncle Kevin.

    He was utter s h y t e!

Injury cost Burrows a number of Albion appearances. He never played more than 17 games in a season. In his time he wore no.s 2, 4, 5, 6 as well as 3 and I saw him wear 9 away at Pompey (pre Pulis) in the mid 80's. All his games except his debut in Division 2.

I picked Ray Wilson as my second left back as imo he was one of the few who were an improvement on who they replaced in the Cup Winning side. Having said that Graham Williams was a great leader.
