This is all a little bit off topic.

Although it doesn't apply in this instance is casual racism acceptable if it's genuinely funny? Or not?

Probably a question for a separate O/T thread or perhaps to re*****ise the dormant designated thread.

Clever if it was funny, it isn’t and neither is your banter.

It is virtually impossible today to make a comment about anything without someone being offended. Whether you are accused of ***ism, rascism, ageism or being to fat, to thin, to big, to small, your wife your mother in law or being xenophobic. Etc.

Some of the Scottish, Welsh or Irish think it’s fair game to have a go at the English as it doesn’t matter if you offend the English.

I’ve been refused to be served in a hotel and pub on two separate occasions in 2 separate of the above countries above due to my nationality.

A few years back I flew from Prestwick where a major UK chain inside the airport were selling t shirts with ‘I’ll be supporting anyone but the English’ printed on them. I think it’s odd as well when any competition is on most of the English I know want any of the home nations to do well.

My point is banter is banter, but for some they turn it into something else when it suits.

That's exactly what happened in this case. It had nothing to do with the post, it was about who posted it.

If it helps Elite, you hide behind that thought.
It helped the Yorkshire cricketers to feel okay about banter.

You really are embarrassing yourself big time. So you equate a long culture of institutional racism at Yorkshire CCC with a jokey comment on a non-league footy messageboard? Seriously? Get a grip FFS. Let's rewind to what really happened here. The topic started about the tickets for Wrexham. The first reply was from me saying I'd tried to by a couple in the away end. The next post was a very clear and obvious joke from CamPie about me possibly buying them to cause trouble among the Wrexham fans. The following post was a clear and obvious joke in the same vein from me about going in there and causing aggro. I explained in detail why I tried to buy the tickets, but in the next post you decided to accuse me of racism. You weren't bothered about racism in the slightest, you just tried to look clever and score a few cheap points. You have made a complete dick of yourself, and should hang your head in shame.

Well I find forwardmagpie’s newly found interest in racism quite refreshing.

Because there’s been loads of it on this board for the last 5 years and to my knowledge he’s said fa about it. Never too late I suppose.

I suppose if it's against you personally you feel different? Do black people get offended I wonder when they hear jokes about the French or Irish etc.
