He had time. I think he was conscious of the player on the line and tried to place it high in the net.

Richardson. 7. Great player, just looks like the confidence is slowly being drained out of him being at Notts. You can see the speed etc…and that’s why I gave him a 7, but he’s not as confident as when he arrived.

I might be misunderstanding your comments. But, why is the confidence being drained out of him at Notts?

He has license to get forward, which is clearly the strong part of his game, he’s Burchnall’s type of player and apart from a couple groans from the crowd he’s been well supported.
Don't disagree with your comments, but I genuinely think he's not as confident now as what he was in his first couple of matches. Whether that's instructions from the bench, cockiness of youth on forst few games etc...but he's not as willing to go for it now imo. Still does, and not a major issue, just seems less 'free'.

Interesting thread, wouldn’t massively disagree with anything that’s been said. In terms of individual ratings, it’s completely different to Tuesday night where there were probably half-a-dozen strong candidates for MOTM.

Slocombe - 7 - Couldn’t do anything with the goal, distribution and handling good. Deserves to keep his place next week.

Richardson - 6 - Needed to do more to stop the cross for the goal. Strong outlet but looked absolutely miles above this level when he came in December, could argue this is no longer the case.

Lacey - 6 - Not his best game but didn’t think he did a huge amount wrong, bar missing the header that then enabled Wootton to miss an even easier one.

Rawlinson - 8* - Needs to stay in the team now, badly missed his no-nonsense defending abilities when he wasn’t playing.

Chicksen - 7 - Consistently good and an excellent outlet in that position. Be interesting to see if he moves to LWB or comes out of the team altogether when Cameron returns.

Kelly-Evans - 6 - Always 100% effort but this was more the (limited) performance I expected on Tuesday night, when he turned into prime Phillip Lahm. Do feel his bite is needed so a strong argument to keep him in the team.

Vincent - 6.5 - Boundless energy but just lacks that quality on the ball at times. Provided the excellent cross which should’ve led to the winner.

Arter - 6 - Didn’t stand out in the same way he did in his first two games. Broke play up well but not really above what you’d expect from a NL holding midfielder for this one.

Palmer - 6.5 - Played all three midfield positions but from what I’ve seen his best position is the holding role now being filled by Arter. Didn’t offer a massive amount creatively.

Rodrigues - 7 - Was everywhere and won the penalty, comfortably our most dangerous attacker. Clearly not an orthodox striker though so with a back 3/5 and a solid midfield 3, thought it would have made sense to have thrown Sam on for the last 10/15, and moved him deeper, where he was essentially playing anyway.

Wootton - 5.5 - Usual non-stop effort and great hold-up play, and feared the worst when he stepped up to take the pen, which he took well. But clearly has to be scoring his chance from a couple of yards out, so cost us two points.

O’Brien - 5.5 - Like him as a player so glad to see him back, but most memorable moments of his cameo were him bundling someone over in the box, which should’ve resulted in a penalty, and then needlessly giving the ball away near the corner flag, which should’ve resulted in a goal.

If we had Miller and not Kelly Evans on the left I think we win that game by a couple of goals. Not having that he was anywhere near MoTM yesterday if Chicksen isn't there for the overlap it completely shafts the players in the middle who have to stall their runs. Graham in for Kelly Evans and shuffle Chicksen across for me.

Although he was made to look fantastic because Richardson was barely in the frame whenever Miller came forward.

I'd be inclined to have Kelly-Evans in a similar role to Vincent ala Curtis Thompson's positional change under Derry.

My back 3 choice would be Graham, Rawlinson, Cameron...move Chicksen to LWB.

We'll be able to get the ball out much better with those 3

I think he’s probably realised the NL is tougher than he thought. He can’t coast through games, you have to graft.

He’s also aware teams will attack him, defending not his strength.

And then there’s the missed opportunities.

Big leaning curve, I’m sure he’ll get back to his top level over the remaking fixtures.

Pretty good picks, the way to go if we stay with the 3-5-2.
    My team for the run-in

    ..............Jaros
    Richo Rawlo Cameron Chikz
    .........Palmer Arter
    ...Roberts Ruben Vincent
    ............Sam

Richardson benefits massively from having cal roberts infront of him, when both play you get the best out of him.

Its been evident people are saying hrs got worse in the games where cal isnt playing.

Sam should be in the team but not leading the attack, he can't jump for starters.

It would be really interesting to see how this line up got on
