I don't think Pace is a fool. I think he knows finances and I think he knows how to get good motivated people to work with him. That includes players he has signed. And he might even know more then I do about building a successful culture But that last bit now lies in the hands of a reasonably inexperienced manager (who still might know more about this than I do). I just fear we're trying to do too many things at the same time. Hold on to some players to keep the culture, and as soon as the new players are settled, next season, make some more changes.
And I don't trust the weekly wages sums. Are you basing that on what they earned last year? According to Crouch a 50% wage cut if relegated is standard in players contracts.

Which is what's happening, he's doing exactly what needs to be done, as he said he would.

There's a long list of players who have left, but we've also brought half a dozen or so replacements in haven't we ? I cannot see Vinni being particularly unhappy at this stage, I would think it's proceeding exactly as he thought it would.
I agree with you, sinkov. The club is doing what it has to do and doing a good job. When you look at the list there are several who have been slated on this site as a waste of money. I don’t think any one can begrudge Tarks and Pope their moves.

In addition, many pointed out (rightly) that we had an aging squad of players not of Premier League quality. Brownhill’s detractors must surely be delighted if he moves on!! People cannot have it both ways.

First job of any business is to survive. The second is to look to the future. I think VK is putting together a young, keen squad who will be competitive. It is down to VK and his team to instil the right ethic in the squad.

I am very happy with business so far.For me Charlie can go,Brownhill can go but keep either Cornet or Mcneil if possible.Charlie and Brownhill were picked by Dyche to play Dycheball and are probably not suited to the system VK wants to play.

If we can buy the Soul Man from Angers and sell Taylor and Brownhill and pocket £20 million I'll be delighted.

Does anyone know what system Vinni might want to play, a flat back four, or 3 CBs and wing backs, anyone know what he did at Anderlecht ?

In a couple of weeks we may find out.Really looking forward to it.Makes a change from battling for points to stay in the EPL.Seriously
I don't think we will be battling for points to stay in the Championship, although we may have to give it some time to see where we really are at.

I heard a Belgium journalist describe it as a 4-2-2-2.

    - Buying youth is good for a long term rebuild, not a fan of loaning tbh
    - I would like to buy a few more established Championship players age 23 -26
Cornet is being linked with Everton. After selling Richarlison, the release amount is not a problem.

I can’t see him staying unless he really believes in VK and staff. He would be in the PL, make more money and could attract the really big boys if he makes it at Everton. He was terrific for us until Dyche taught him “the Burnley way”.

Good luck to him whatever happens.

The late, great Jimmy Mac once said that the team had no fear and had the philosophy “you score three, we’ll score 4”.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see that philosophy in action at Turf Moor again! Excitement! What is that?

My only concern in saying that is that we do not have the likes of Pointer, Willie Irvine, Andy Lochead. Can Barnes and JayRod actually score goals? The lad Twine would have a big job to do!
