I see Wrexham have been given an easy looking home tie against Farnborough in the 2nd round. Hopefully they win that and get a plum draw in the 3rd round causing them to lose focus on the league. Chesterfield, Solihull and Boreham Wood still involved as well.

We can but hope the FA Cup becomes a distraction for Wrexham and others. It’s a cliche but being knocked out at the qualifying round really does allow us to “concentrate on the league.” We are not going to win the FA cup and getting a big club in the third round can wait until we are back in the EFL. The same goes for the FA Trophy for me. I would not care a jolt if we “rested” some players and got knocked out of that competition as well.

We need any advantage we can get over Wrexham this season. It could really be such a fine margin and we could do without extra games and the added risk of injuries and suspensions.

Let’s hope they get Cardiff or Swansea
