I really want Maddison at the club, however £55 mil seems a lot. £40 mil tops.

Yes Gordon was £45 and Maddison is currently better, but imo we paid over market value for Gordon and we took a gamble on his potential.

Aye, that's a good point about Gordon.

Plus, Maddison only has a year left and they're in the Chimpo so their bargaining position is a lot weaker than if they'd stayed up.

Seriously, regardless of Leicester being in the championship, MADDISON is a 40 to 50 million player. Yes, Leicester have a problem with only one year left on his contract, but another club will waltz in and spend that on him. Not sure why we are suddenly ion the poor house.

Maybe, but I reckon we need to manage the budget whatever it is to fill our gaps with sufficient quality for a load more games next season. Its all about the numbers for me. If he had another year left and they were still a premier league team then yes, 50 mill but not under their cyrrent circumstances.

Perhaps, but I don't like our chances of picking him up like a pair of shoes at a ladies shoe clearance

What are we talking we need right now, a right footed CB, full back, 2 midfielders attacking and defensive at least. Thats a lot of cheese needed for that lot.

    shoe clearance
I get your meaning. He's a quality player who I would like to see in black and white and the classy thing would be to pay his value rather than market value. I'm not that classy tho!!

Rumours now going around that Spuds are preparing a realistic bid.

It's early in the window so I wonder how long Leicester will hold out for competitive bids.
