Not standing up for him either but have a look at the picture in match thread.
Wreckless challenge denying a goal scoring opportunity.

By who, the QPR keeper? THERE WAS NO CONTACT!!! Bamford has said as much. How can zero contact deny anything?

I've supported Bamford when he was criticised by just about everyone, but attempting to mislead a match official is something he has form on. And for the second time it led to the dismissal of an opposing player, who was doing nothing more than what a gk should be doing in similar circumstances (and I'd expect Meslier to do) which is closing down the angles to make goal scoring more difficult. If Bamfords touch had been better he might have had a chance at scoring, as it was the ball was gone and he dived having not been touched by the gk.

Agreed regarding the behaviour of other players. I know I'll be called naive, but I for one expect more from LUFC players. I hold them to a higher standard simply because they play for my club, not any other, and to see a 1st team player who I have defended on many occasions during his recent bad form do what he did makes me very very sad.

He has lost my support, not that I imagine that will mean anything to him or anyone else, and I suspect that others with axes to grind will ensure he doesn't escape sanction.

Interesting pic & opinion expressed on page 3 of the Bristol forum attached to my Thread.

For me Bamford clumsily falls over trying to avoid contact from incoming keeper possibly slipping due his natural running gait in the process.

My brother (keeper) upon seeing it several times maintains no way should a keeper even come out with foot raised that high in any situation & certain never be leaning backwards as he's not spreading himself to be 'large' to even stop any attempted shot.

What will be, will be but both players lucky to not suffer an injury.

For me no malice from each player & no cheating of rule by each player.
Just clumsy techniques from both !

Just seems like we can support a player when he misses a sitter from 2yrds out which may have kept a team from getting relegated but we can't support him in a 50/50 challenge.

Not sure if you watch the replays in real time especially the head on angle it looks fairly bad.

If he slipped he should have intervened with the ref. His sheepish look afterwards maybe gives a clue too.

From the Refs points of view & rules he was gonna be off regardless of Bamfords intervention or intentions.

Not sure I fully agree not least as it was a keeper.

If the ref realises there was zero contact and it’s not even close to contact that is never a red card. Looking at the replays I don’t think it was reckless.

Seems looking at that picture the keeper came out foot first waist high, anywhere else on the field that's a sending off, photos can however be deceptive, bit like bamfords first touch.
