We all express ourselves differently, and very often the ones who moan the most are the ones who care the most.
Your selective quoting cut out selective scapegoating, so you misrepresent what I said.

Still, a wildly successful, nigh-on historic, set of players, catapulting us back up into the EFL, sitting on top of the league...some of the stuff you read on here would have you believe we're in the bottom half coming off a relegation. The scathing tone is baffling, I'll stand by that.

The difference between this season and last is that a draw away from home is not a bad result because of the three promotion spots.

Talking of draws, it’s interesting to note that Mansfield’s away form is W1, D5, L0. Be very nice to end the other unbeaten run after doing for Swindon last week.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving every minute of where we are. All I wanted before my time is up was for us to be the Oldest Football League Club in the World again. My wish has been granted, so anything else is a bonus. I'm not one of those who criticise, but I think those who do are misunderstood for the reasons I've already stated.

To sum it up, I think the ones who moan the most are often the ones who care the most.

    That's the spirit

I haven't disputed that, although it won't always be the case.

Where I'm coming from is asking whether the criticism is fair.

We can assume nobody at the club ever reads this tripe, so that's not an issue. But even so, other fans will see criticism as unfair, for reasons I've laid out, and pushback on it. That's a messageboard thing too. Would we want a board where posters just lay in negatively? Supporting and liking the team and the players, it's natural to respond when you see criticism as unfair, given the overall context.

We all know that some players in some games, could/should have done better, but that is true for all teams and players at all levels. Go back to 2018/19 and compare, we have over half the points we ended up with already, we probably spent more that season on players overall and to what end.
Well i said i thought Notts would be top half of table with a chance of Playoffs, so we are doing well, i think on the evidence so far we will be top 7, maybe with a chance at auto- so better than expected so far, but we have only played 12 games- roughly 1/4 of the saeson

Of course it isn't fair, given where we are it's blatantly unfair.

But if you're looking for fair, I think you're in the wrong place!

No, exactly in the right place. I'm not 'looking for fair' but I know unfair when I see it

And yet here we are, no longer victims of a gypsy's curse, and with possibly the best manager in the lower divisions, and still we have 'old school' moaners. Look at the whinging and whining on yesterday's Barrow fred. You'd think that rather than finishing up with a draw we had been taken to the cleaners.
I forecast a 3rd place finish at the start of the season and I stand by that judgment (although I admit to wobbling a bit after the Sutton game).
Come on, chaps, let's count our blessings a bit more and go easy on our defenders rather than constantly rubbishing them. By this time next season, if we can keep our nerve, we could well be challenging in the upper reaches of League 1.
I count myself very lucky indeed.

Not so long ago it seemed like we were going to be stuck in non-league forever. Now we are not only back in the league, but right up there as serious contenders for promotion to L1. We have a very good squad for this level, a fine manager & excellent owners who are gradually improving all aspects of our club infrastructure.

And still, some people are not happy...

Well the Barrow Manager Pete Wild said Notts are a Top team the best that have visited Holker street in 18 months, and he thinks Notts will be promoted this season
