I agree with you & thats why I do not envisage a mass culling , cannot see any savings on wages unless we sell more than we bring in as all the new players will soak up the wages saved, but it is not so much our club that determines our january , you can only sell if there are buyers & january does not attract the amount of sales as the other windows do & I am not sure that clubs who might be interested in our players will be awash with cash , I also cling to the hope that our new director of football might influence the suits with a view to making a push for promotion which would be far more financially beneficial than the few bob they might get by selling on the cheap , we will see .

Are we watching the same club ???
I honestly dont recognise the club you are describing.

Firstly - why mention the owners are only interested in the bank account???
They have openly said that this season is what they consider their FIRST season.
Last season - as they describe it - was a matter of putting fires out regarding the finances of the club.
So this season is their first proper season - and you are judging on them on 1/2 of that season.
Is that what you are actually saying ???
    If it is it’s unbelievable.

You have heard what the directors said about player sales.
So why are you saying they did something completely different to what happened in practice ???

With regard to the directors ‘connection with the fans’.
Can you name me another club that has ‘fans forums’ ???
Can you name me another club that is inviting supporters to form their own committee ???

As it happens there is a similar conversation going on at the moment on BBS.
It’s under the heading ‘Silly Comments’.
    It’s worth reading.

JAQ " we don't see ourselves as little old Barnsley "

Fair enough, get yer hands in ya pockets then and we won't be.

Aye, there's more chance of a one legged blowk winning an arse kicking competition

Except sat at the table looking at bread and water is actually the reality and not the jam tomorrow fantasy that seems only to exist inside your head .

    Reality v fantasy .

Yes it's a remarkable read , basically anyone who criticises the ownership is either thick or xenophobic .

The gates can't possibly drop to 5k , well they have before so why can't they now ?

The owners couldn't possibly lose interest , why can't they when Neerav and JAQ aren't from the UK never mind Barnsley ? .

The classic of course is the legend that is Bobby Hassell who will apparently do a fantastic job if he were to become Director Of Football .

    Based on what exactly ?

A very average even if fully committed playing career that lasted 10 years here .

Presumably if I stay at my present job for 10 years I'll do a fantastic job as Operations Manager .

How many first team players have you personally brought through from the academy to the first team Bobby that we've actually not only benefited from on the field but also brought millions of pounds in ?

The problem is with some of our fans and to be honest life in general , people don't like to hear the truth and anyone who doesn't follow the popular opinion is considered a trouble maker .

    Spot on Animal.

There are some very good posters on BBS but that thread reeks of "I'm the better fan" and a supposed intellectual superiority over fans who do not share their opinions. Other fans not holding the "correct" view are stated as being, quote, "insignificants"

The myth that Parekh has donated/ gifted millions from his own pocket never to be seen again is still being peddled. It ignores the fact he has bought shares in rights issues which he can later re-sell,, as have Lee and PMG and that £3mill of that money is set aside to actually purchase the club, which they have not yet done (apart from the first instalment of £750K taken out of club accounts as a Directors Bonus).

We are all Barnsley fans and such divisive stuff is not required.

Animal I think you are getting the past, present and future mixed up.
The past is reality - the facts.
The present isn’t doom and gloom.
The future is what can be aimed for - I’d personally rather aim for the jam than sit staring at bread and watter thinking that’s all what we deserve.

As for following the popular opinion.
……. ‘people don't like to hear the truth and anyone who doesn't follow the popular opinion is considered a trouble maker’ .

So who follows the popular opinion on here ???
Is it me or is it you ???

All opinions are equally valid Nudge. You do not need to follow the opinion of the herd.
What is the "popular opinion" on here that you refer to Nudge ?
