    Jeez.
What are we saying here - that the directors are sat in the boardroom with their feet up, drinking tea and eating ginger biscuits !?!?!

We all know that’s not the case.
Let’s have a bit of moderation.

Yes it’s disappointing - basically because even if we bring in players now they wont be up to speed at the start of the season with how DC wants them to play - but as DC says - anyone can go out and get a dozen players but we need to get the right players.

It’s going to be interesting who they bring in.
I’ll reserve judgement when I see who they are.

Have you seen the thread, "An Apology", on BBS Nudge.

It seems there is some kind of amnesty period for those who have been banned on there if you are willing to write a public apology on there for past naughtiness/ personal abuse.

    Could be worth a try.

2 nil down after 18 minutes and they have had one disallowed as well......
Watters hasn't even touched the ball yet, woeful so far, we are just watching them play football.

Clarke changed it after about 25 mins and then it was mainly one way traffic towards their goal.
For me all this game has highlighted is that Clarke is willing to change things early if needed and our DESPERATE need for a striker or 3.

There is a lot of work to do. For me, not much difference. Some people were CLAPPING at the end. Why?

    2nd Half.
The play is quicker going forward - but what’s the point of that if we have no forwards ???
We had enough EASY changes there to win 3 games - and lost.

Watters is finished - Marsh has to start in front of him in the next game.
There is also a big question mark against Cosgrove.

This result is the best possible outcome for Barnsley.
    It’s brought things into focus.
It’s clear as clear can be - the defence needs work - and WE NEED STRIKERS.
Not as recently said just 2 - we need 4 !!!

We have two young lads - both Marsh and Fabio are good.
But that’s all we have at the club.
Little passages of play revealed the rest of the team have no confidence in the senior strikers (Cosgrove + Watters).

Very wasteful tonight with about six shots inside the penalty area all off target. Last seasons opener we hit the back of the net seven times with seven shots in a similar opening twenty minutes when the visitors could have been two up. Funny old game.

I’m feeling positive in what I believe was a generally a half decent performance since the first substitution. The areas of weakness (goalkeeper and striker) has been our downfall. We know it’s obvious, so does Clarke so let’s hope we’ve got some players close to signing. The people upstairs now need to get their fingers out.

Plenty of positives to take from the game, midfield we look decent, we’ve created chances and Clarke isn’t afraid to make his substitutions.

Captain Connell by far the best player on the park by a country mile.

Good news that we’ve signed Gabriel Slonina on loan for the onion bag. Announced 15 minutes before kick off, you just couldn’t make it up.

Fair play to Mansfield, Clough is no mug, signed some experienced players and for first twenty five minutes were the better side.

Storming save at the end from Killip, shame he couldn’t do it for the opener.

On to the next game - up the Reds.
