The performance was awful only positives, was Nombe trying, the Forest youngster winning more headers in 5 minutes than JCH and Hugill did all first half, Phillips stopping it being 3 or 4 and a real battling performance from Odofin, other than that it was very very bad. I said after Grimsby we are just a huff and chase team and got passed off the pitch in the 2nd half, we haven't scored since then. We seem to hope for set piece goals yet in the last minute we can't even take a corner correctly. The style of football is shocking, in fact there isn't any football it is a series of "hail marys". Evans said we would get a Rotherham style back, well that was what we saw from Exeter, giving everything to get the points. There were a lot of players in Rotherham shirts that looked slow, not bothered and completely lacking any belief or confidence. Yes odofin should have scored just before they did and Christ just after, but we don't look capable of scoring goals, since we did preseason against the non-league teams we haven't looked like creating clear chances and taking them, that is a real worry. the midfield is crying out for kelly to bring some calmness into the game. I feel lower after that game than i did last year against Stoke it was a league higher, we got back into the game last year and went down to 10 men, we could have played another hour and we wouldn't have scored today. Now a lot has to improve, i don't want excuses from Evans the ref wasn't great but it was for both sides, I want us to put a good team out against Crewe and win the game in 90 mins and put a real performance in next Saturday, a lot has to improve on that today. Perhaps losing and playing so bad might help us in the long run, it certainly means we need to spend the Ollie money on a good player to run that midfield.
Refusing to shake hands? That’s diabolical. Not as though we were robbed is it? Should be fined if that is the case.

You could see in the home friendly's we were lacking. We still haven't got a left back cause if James was good enough he'd have started this evening. Only 2 of the new signings I can see making a real impact in the starting 11 are Mcwilliams & Osong. Kelly Mcdonald another two can't work out why we signed them. Wilkes no way I'd sign him been missing from 1st team football for too long.

Very first game and most on here have already thrown their toys out of the pram . Let’s see where we are in a dozen games.

Passing , movement, quality, got the max out of their resources, kept going for 95+ minutes
That’s obviously Exeter and well done to them, they fully deserved their win. Infinitely better than us.

    Rotherham. None of the above.
Need to do much much better

Maybe it will take another 100 years and 2125 until our next away win
We won’t get one this season playing like that
I’m sure we’ll improve but Jesus wept ….

After the hype a complete anti climax. "Strikers" were invisible. Midfield failed to impose themselves. Back four ....what were they doing for the goal? Keeper...he made a couple of saves but he makes me nervous. The one and only tactic was hoofball. Ok it's day one but that was a toothless lacklustre display. We need to move the ball quicker, our players need to bust a gut to find space and we need to get further up the pitch. The honeymoon is over

I found it puzzling that SE started with so many of the failures from last season and they duly obliged by carrying on from where they left off.
Surely he will make wholesale changes for the first home league game (I'm not particularly bothered about the Crewe game).
