I've listened to all the pundits and fan channels debate the point.

The consensus is that is was 'soft, but Diaz played Schar like a fiddle and got him sent off'.

I seems to be a case that literally no one knows the rules of the game. The rules are that when the whistle has blown play has to stop. If a player commits a professional foul after the whistle it a straight red card. Diaz's foul on Schar was deliberate and Pawson get it completely wrong.

I'd upload screen shots but the image uploader is just URL/web images now so not possible. I've added the highlights below so you can walk through it with my break down.

https://hofoo22.fooroomtyv.com/embed/FLQummLiJ3Pzk - Here are the extended highlights with match clock.

- 26mins 38 seconds - Bruno is fouled on the half way line.
The ball runs back to the defensive right. Diaz in on the half way line & sprints toward Schar who is comfortably in control of the situation.

26mins 41 seconds - Referee blows for the found on Bruno. Diaz is more than 5 meters from Schar who has control of the Ball.

*** Everything from this point on is considered 'out of play, players are to stop and physical contact is a foul off the ball, a professional foul, penalty - red card' ***

26mins 42 seconds - Diaz stride shortens at the sound of the whistle he then picks up pace again & sprints toward Schar

26 44 seconds - Diaz shoulder charges Schar in the back, smashing him to the ground. This is an immediate red card for a professional foul. You can see both Diaz's feet leave the ground as he intentionally barges Schar.

Pawson wasn't even looking at the ball, Schar or Diaz smashing him to the ground.

Everything after that is irrelevant. Schar was foul, Pawson sent off Schar.

Pawson shouldn't be allowed to referee under 8s matches.

Convince me I'm wrong!?!
