Appreciate the response on the motives of this dictatorship sorry government. I don?t agree but I respect your opinion.
    You're welcome, Yak.

I'm guessing that it was your financial adviser who whipped you up into a state of moral outrage? 😀.

Was he/she trying to sell you something by any chance?

    O/T cash isas

Widely reported that Rachel from complaints is going to scrap or drastically cut the 20k ISA tax break. She says she wants our money to go into riskier stocks and shares ISAs. Needless to say the fat cats in the city are delighted. What it really means is: "go ahead old boy and gamble with my money. No problem if your bet crashes but enjoy the cut you're going to make." Building societies will now have less cash to reallocate for mortgages. Genius idea eh?

    ISA's why bother?

I withdrew my money after the financial crash and out it Premium Bonds

Won 40percent more than if I had left it in an ISA

2 ex-pit mates took redundancy before the pits started shutting, both were kidded on
to put the money into stocks & shares.
Both lost their investments, one of them I saw regularly after I finished work & I would
talk to him, only thing though he would moan about having no money, saying that it
was alright for me, I had my money.
In the end if I saw him walking down the main street in Mexborough, I would cross over
to the other side, I didn't want to hear him moaning about the loss of his money.
