If the young players can play, you simply play them. The myth about looking after them is bollox. When I was a young lad, I was so fit I could play every day. Yes, they can't perform every game, and they will have downtime, but which professional players play 100% every game? We had Greece, for example, destroy one team, then they take half the youth out, replace them with experience, and they get flogged. This is Farkes' problem; he persists with players even though others are better, and they get upset and he dumps them.

He looks at the system as opposed to the players - we only alighted on the Tanaka and Rothwell combo last season due to injuries to others.

Not sure what he does in training or how he evaluates players but seems out of kilter with what you might expect.

Again, the idea of giving proper minutes to players for their development seems alien.

As you know I?m not the greatest fan of his management style but given he was promised the job and how he has done so far think he deserves a chance for a while longer.

Injuries seem to be the only way a player breaks into the lineup at Leeds. Even MB practiced that.

I suspect that it's a huge deterrent in the recruiting area and why we constantly seem to lose out on players that are almost "across the line". The think about it a while and realize they are just going to sit the bench unless the teachers pet gets injured. I think it's also likely that its why Sunderland and some of the European teams beat us out. It's not always about money.

Yeah that?s what I fear too Spaldy land maybe no coincidence that some of the younger talent we wanted to keep flew the academy nest this year.

I also don?t get why Charlie Cree is spending another fu session at Doncaster when he had rave reviews last year and looked good enough for the squad in pre season as well as starting for Wales.

Interesting stats re internationals - we only had 5 players away on duty Burnley and Sunderland bothe had closer to 15. Also a gap to the team with the next fewest.
