I was present at a Dee4life board of directors meeting in late 2018 when Ian Baird told Bob Hynd that there was not enough value in the new stadium development site in the former NCR Camperdown playing fields.
At the time the new stadium development was to cost ?20 million less ?6.5 million from the sale of the top part of the site to a house building firm to build luxury housing. This resulted in a net cost of ?13.5 million.
Now the reputed cost is ?100 million and rising.
If there was not enough value in the site when it was going to cost ?13.5 million to build the new stadium development then there is certainly not enough value in the site which is going to cost ?100 million plus less ?6.5 million for the sale of land for luxury housing.
In my opinion it is high time that John Nelms told us how Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited are going to fund the ?100 million plus cost of their new stadium development in the former NCR Camperdown playing fields.

I reckon that a new main stand would cost a lot less that ?40 million but it would result in John Nelms having to admit that he has made a mistake about his new stadium.
I have never heard John Nelms admit in public that he has made a mistake so that will never happen.

John Nelms has spent far too much money on this project already for Keyes to simply walk away I reckon. It's one thing to cut and run but another to do so with a red face and everybody pointing at you saying I told you so.

Keyes has already borrowed just over ?1 million from Soho Green with the 29.7 acres new stadium development site put up as security for their loan.
Therefore it would be easy for Tim Keyes to walk away from this project by not repaying their loan, leaving Soho Green with 29.7 acres of wasteland.
Incidentally I do not believe the ?3.5 million Nelms stated that has been spent on this project even if it includes the ?1,296,000 that Tim Keyes paid Vico Camperdown Limited for the 29.7 acres site.

Why would Dens Park not be viable as a permanent home?

I believe it's 100% viable if the correct development of it is completed. All you need is a stadium with access for players and staff, visiting team transport and (at a push) some away buses which is essentially what their Camperdown stadium plan is. FPS say Dens is unviable because it doesn't suit their other plans for housing, crematorium, Pizza Express etc. Just because it wouldn't be included in a development that could possibly provide other income doesn't make a stadium unviable.

I was once told by a certain person that the South Stand couldn't be developed because there might have been some toxic w7aste from Bowbridge Works used to bank it up when the place was built. That person could show me no evidence of this, couldn't even say what toxic substances were in use back then at Bowbridge, and backed off when I suggested doing some core samples - too expensive but the quoted at the time 20M GBP or whatever for Campy wasn't. The space available at the south of Dens Park is massive and could provide everything any football club would need, especially combined with the fact that the plan is to move football operations and all admin to a seperate training site.

ETA - the toxic material from Bowbridge hs been proven to be urban legend. Houses are now built on the site and that would never have been allowed if there was any question of toxic waste from the works.

Maybe this should be the rallying point for Dee4Life? If the Campy project does not get planning permission, or the funding to build it is not forthcoming, perhaps the Campy site could be developed without the stadium element and recoup our owners investment. This would focus attention back on Dens.

Our current owners have no interest in either Dundee FC or in the stadium in which the club plays. Why would they bother improving Dens if they get the go ahead for all the other parts of the development but not the stadium?

I would be interested to hear Tim Keyes making a speech stating that he is in favour of a new stadium development in the former NCR Camperdown playing fields considering I heard that Tim Keyes tried to sell the site back to the previous owners Vico Camperdown Limited shortly after Tim Keyes had purchased the site for ?1,296,000 on 8th July 2016.
The Directors of Vico Camperdown Limited were not interested and Tim Keyes has been stuck with 29.7 acres of wasteland since July 2016.

Exactly, they either stick with it because they really are interested in owing a football club, or they sell us, and perhaps in the fact that they own Dens will be crucial to selling the club.

They Ain't interested in owning a football club.

I think that's proven without a shadow.

I genuinely believe they are killing DFC as a club and our fanbase into the bargain..... not deliberately..... just sheer lack of care, horrendous decision making and the man in situs contempt for the fans.

They think they are DFC.....they ain't, they never have been and never will be.
