Not a great surprise but with 3 key players coming on at half time, and despite the rustiness and new kid Grey playing his first game at this level, we actually competed well, much more life in the middle and unlucky not to come away with a point. Less said about the defence the better.

You would def think that playing Rafferty and James at full back when both were available in a back 4 would be a good way forward when we have no wing backs. I think it would certainly stabilise us as Holmes (who bless him has a real go whenever he's on) has no defensive instinct and think same could be said of Kaleta.

If we can keep the returning players fit, get Gore back and get Gray to integrate, we may have a good chance of turning it round but I have to agree that playing wing backs when we don't have wing backs may be MH's cross to die on.

But better today. Need to build on that.

Yet I’ll say it again you didn’t mind them getting the sack.
What do you think should happen? Apart from having a go at people who criticise this manager?
If sacking him won’t change should we just keep backing a manager who has just achieved a new record of straight losses in league 1.
I get your point that nothing will change I’m agreeing with you.
So why not comment on the I’ll say it again how many straight losses.
Just digging fans out for wanting him sacked when you have wanted others sacked is yep I’m sure you get it hypocrisy.
    What would you do mellow?

Seven straight defeats before today and yet the manager still plays the same system. The same system that he chose to abandon at half time against Huddersfield in midweek because it wasn't working. Yet he still decides to set us up this way, even if it means playing players out of position.

    Someone make that make sense.

You seem incapable of understanding that just sacking the manager doesn't solve the underlying issues.
I've said on other occasions that I wanted the previous managers gone but what has it achieved? We're actually in a worse position now.
By all means let TS sack Hamshaw but what do you expect will happen then? Maybe there's a magician out there willing to work for peanuts in football terms and with a meagre budget who will have us storming up the table?
Actually there probably is but I doubt if he'll fancy having a go at rescuing us for a second time.
So what would you do BOTN after you've sacked the 4th manager in about 3 years?

I am afraid to say that MH makes little sense to me in some choices. Some players, for whatever reason are clearly no good for the team are selected and left on.
Players coming off the bench at half time yet again improve play time and again. Once you have committed players at half time you have nowhere to go from there, so they must be considered to be ok to last a half. So play them first!

Expecting anything else from a weakened side from the off other than trouble, well is cloud cuckoo land. Couple that to insistence on a 3 with inadequate WB’s…..again, baffling.

Compare Dawson’s stats as a keeper, passes attempted to % made, to the other keeper today….shocking difference.
Cannot jump for a ball and concedes a goal.

If we do not keep and play our best players, then there is only one way this season will end. Relegation. And we are sleepwalking into it.

Dave Challinor said, amongst other things in his post match interview, the following. "Sometimes you'll not get what you deserve in football matches and Rotherham, in terms of effort, will be pretty disappointed that they didn't get something from the game".
And, referring to Stockport's second goal "We got ourselves in front through what, in in every other football match, is a foul and Hammy will be very disappointed."

The point I’m making is that you keep having a go at people for wanting him sacked. I have agreed with you not much will change how the club is run. So instead of having a go at people for wanting him sacked
Tell us why he should stay then apart from what we both agree on.
    His tactics
    His interviews
    His signings
    His philosophy
Tell us what your opinion is on that mellow.
You can’t just keep saying sacking him won’t change anything because that’s not certain. Maybe it will but one things for certain in a lot of supporters opinions and it’s just opinions is that he’s taking us down.
I have always respected your opinions and still do but having ago at supporters without giving an alternative opinion imo just doesn’t stack up.

You?re not going to get that with the current ownership of the club.

Plus who?s to say MH wouldn?t be the right man with the right backing.

We all know that we will be allowed to bring two or three players, yet MH wants to make one of them a CB, he has a lot of CBs but he has told two of them they can go? I understand Raggett due to fitness and wages but Jules is a decent L1 CB he has Baptiste and he is very good, he will have Douglas back and he has the big summer signing in Agbaire, don’t forget young Duncan as cover a player that he totally ignores, I am convinced that is down to how he was brought into the club, no evidence just a feeling. He continues with a formation that has 3 CBs even though we leak goals and it hasn’t worked. We don’t have the wing backs and his player Hall is out for 3 months, it is a level of madness that is very hard to defend. The more he speaks and the more I hear from him the more I am convinced we would be better off with him gone, accepting that it is nothing more than a temporary bandage on a gapping wound. That bandage might be enough to avoid relegation, because keeping captain stubborn will almost certainly end up with us in L2, every game that passes moves us closer to the drop.

The next few home games are big games now.........utm
It's OK saying 3 stupid goals , let's paint the picture correctly, the 2nd goal shouldn't have counted, and only the ref will know why he never gave a foul on Dawson, that's 3 ref mistakes that have cost us ,in last 3 games , Bolton 1st goal offside , Blackpool the sending off that was over turned, Stockport. Foul on keeper
