If we sold him this week that's basically telling the fans we're not bothered about promotion this season. Then you'd see a drop off in the attendances and also a slide down the table. We're only just hanging onto the play offs as it is. The owners are too smart for that I'm sure.

True but that very rarely means anything. If someone offers him 15k a week say in the summer he’s going to become very unsettled, it’s human nature and then it becomes difficult for the club. The good thing about the contract is that we will get a premium price.

Yes but agents will give him the nod and if the offer is so good it unsettles the player if he can’t talk to those concerned.

I know it will happen - doesn't mean it's right though does it? It means the club who want to make the offer speak to the agent before they speak to us. Otherwise, how do the agents know?
