Let's scrap the older stuff now just in case the Defence Review decides that money should be spent on them!

And please can all beligerent countries refrain from any aggressive action against us until we are better equipped.

Is there anything we are good at? Conkers? Tiddleywinks?

It does make you wonder what they, "the Government of the day", think is happening in the world? Are they blind or just gambling.

I thought decisions like allowing the use of our missiles by the Ukraine would have had have to go through Parliament for approval ?

No, we are not at war, we are supporting a third party.

AFAIK, the government of the day, doesn't even have to consult Parliament for a declaration of war.

As far as defence is concerned, sending a strong message through military action, would never happen with Labour in the mix at any level, Corbyn et al would happily have us turn the other cheek as Russians or Chinese, were marching down Pall Mall.

The UK and Europe have happily sat by and let the US bear the burden for keeping us all safe, this has to change. I was reading some American, complaining of all the money they are spending on Ukraine, however, a comparison of money spent as a % of GDP puts America seven****th in the list of donors with Denmark and Estonia at the top, even the UK is higher in the list.

Defence is like pensions, people want more but they won't even accept a penny on the ? in tax to pay for it.

A lot has been made of the example of Allison Pearson, in her case she libelled 2 Pakistani men as Jew haters in a tweet which she later deleted. There?s an interesting explanation of that case in the latest Private Eye. That one is in no way a freedom of speech issue, though one could argue the police were somewhat heavy handed. Also to interesting to note that for such a freedom of speech warrior she appears very quick to shut down others.

She also has a lot of past form for spreading misinformation.
I read the link you posted, the first reply under it made more sense to me.

She was wise not to. Free speech doesn?t mean she is compelled to speak to anyone that asks, the essence of freedom is choice. You know this of course but are trying to manipulate the situation in order to undermine her position. It?s a very public bullying campaign.
To trust people who perpetuate systems that cause great harm because they?re ideological and dependent on the systems only benefits those who are playing the same game.
Allison isn?t playing. She?s fighting for her freedom and reputation against an emboldened far left cabal.

Long may she be free to choose to NOT SPEAK to people like you.

I?m glad that makes sense to you cos it makes zero to me.

Refusing to go on a podcast is one thing, making veiled threats of litigation is completely different. Especially when youve been caught bang to rights spreading misinformation.

So that was a waste of time, manpower and money.

Research Harry Miller aka Harry The Owl, if you want to see how Lincolnshire police wasted time, manpower and money harassing him whilst making themselves look stupid.
