If that is the case then the owners' strategy isn't working. Do we need to carry such huge expenses at this level? How do other clubs manage, those with much smaller crowds, some of them are above us?

I guess the only way to be viable is for Football Radar to use the club to showcase its operation. Buying Langstaff for 50K and potentially increasing his value to 1.5 million is exactly the kind of thing that shows it can work. Unfortunately, buying like likes of Morias and Randall proves the opposite. The same with managers, unearthing LW and making a profit on him.

Dipping back into the NL, which we should have left behind forever after 4 painful years, does not show great judgement, particularly dishing out 3.5 year contracts which other managers have not had. We need to start thinking like league club.

Apologies for going against the board's orthodox body of opinion, I know it makes some people angry.

In the club's defence Pete Wild at Barrow and Mike Williamson at MK Dons and Dave Challinor at Stockport have all come from non league. Maynard may or may not be a success but I'll give the Bros and recruitment team the benefit of the doubt.

Ok then, it allows us to move on to plan B if a Didzy doesn’t quite work which on Saturday it didn’t. We could still be playing now and wouldn’t have scored again, bringing on like for like subs like Austin didn’t change the game. The fact that Sanderson has made some appearances suggests a striker is needed.
It’s a huge risk if no new striker is bought in. If Macca picks up any injury we are left with Didzy, Sanderson and Morias as our options.

Are any clubs in L2 profitable? And if so, how do they manage to make it work? Perhaps Wrexham are, but they benefit from huge revenue streams that simply don't exist for any other football club at this level.

I mean, is it even possible for a football club to be profitable at this level? In our case, being profitable would mean drastically reducing the wage bill to the point that we'd probably end up battling relegation. Crowds would then dwindle, meaning we'd have to reduce the wage bill further. It's a death spiral.

I’m not sure Wrexham are profitable. Like any successful club at our level they have owners with deeps pockets. Like Stockport and Mansfield.
If we are referring to the Docuseries… that will soon disappear. It’s a great story of a famous actor taking a non league team in to the EFL - made even better by the disappointment of the play off loss which whet the appetite and our battle for top spot last season.
