I never twigged the date, its not a 'hope' of mine I was just aware (can't imagine how) that TTR wasn't a fan. I hope the fellah and his government do well overall for UK over the term, as I always do with the incumbent administration, but its looking like hard work at the mo.

No doubt starmer is living up to his nick name a little. But the supposed U turns do all appear to be with good reason. Although it does perhaps suggest more though is needed in future, and that's the key. If they learn from these early mistakes then it's good. Of course they might not but time will tell.

I still have far more confidence in this government than I would in a farage led one, after all he was championing Liz Truss ill fated budget, that saw more u-turns in days than this government has made in a year.

And as I have said before even though TTR thinks I'm a starmer apologist, I didn't vote labour, I don't particularly like him. But I'd rather him than the potential alternative of reform. I would even suggest I'd vote labour strategically if there was an election tomorrow.

Your gullibility saw it differently , Starmer has always been terrified of upsetting the Muslim vote, as he needs it. Unfortunately for him, they are even going independent now, so he;s boxed himself in.
Here, others didn't view it like you.

as for that last part, perhaps, you'd like a 1k bet for charity?
Crass I know, but I could name everyone, I did a favour asking them to resign before I sacked them.
It helped them keep a clean CV and a better job chance.

Your work career has been public sector. Chances of you sacking anyone, was rather low.
Mine, meanwhile, was always in the fire line for doing so. Textiles- factory of different departments. Short term/long term contracts. (never really motivated or caring)
Modular building factory, high turnover of school leavers, long term unemployed, in conjunction with NCC ( attitudes/ only there because ordered to be there/ complete klutzes)
Brought in, told their services not required as a result. You can leave now, or you're gone. up to you.

Now want to put your self assured opinion of yours to the test? Or shall we just chalk this down, to another example of RA's fantasy real world experience's of everyone else, that must be the truth?
You ‘never suggested that at all’…and yet your conclusion to your Sarah Champion anecdote from 2017 - eight years ago - was, ‘Starmer is done…’

Chances of being sacked from the public sector…’rather low’. Here we go again, another TTR cause…public sector bad v private sector good. Not at all, unlike you I just don’t revel in making myself out to be much more important than I actually was. In your fantasy world the older you get the grander you seem to believe you were.
I often find that the more jobs people had the less capable they were at mastering one. Not always the case I know, but one can only hazard a guess in your case.

Actually TTR is correct in that the chances of being binned in the private sector are higher. "it is a truth universally ackbowledged..." and has always been used to justify wages in the public sector being lower due to increased job security. Im not entirely convinced that, outside director level, the wages in the private sector are now still significantly higher, nor that job security is better in the publice sector given funding cuts in successive budgets...but. The gaps are narrowing, public sector pay is pressing on towards parity - arguably for people long enough in the system to remember / still get inflated index linked pension arrangements in the public sector.

its not a good v bad, its just different, and each side sees the other as being advantaged because of something extra that they get. private sector - higher pay and incentive based bonuses, pubic sector - job security and enhanced benefits. You pays your money and you take your choice.
