It’s a piece of nonsense. Fair enough if teams are tied on points and GD etc to then go to head to head but it should never be the first determinant for separating teams.
Totally agree Mr McClean but let's just win this and see where it takes us

IF we are on 4 points i'm very confident we will qualify, its getting to 4 points that is the hard bit.

Group B i reckon 3rd place will be on 3 points. In Group C a win for either Ukraine who i fancy or Austria would mean 3rd place finishes on 3 points unless they both play out a draw.Group E is tricky Spain need a win or they are out and Poland must beat Sweden(not easy) to get to 4 points anything less and they are out.Group F Portugal need a draw v France or they are out as i am certain the Germans will beat Hungary in Munich.

One thing I am very happy about. We stuffed the constant reruns of the Gascoigne goal firmly up their arses.

If we were a defensive minded side creating nothing i would agree we have no chance but at home against a team who have NEVER beaten us we at least have a chance.Don't get me wrong they do have some wonderful players but i think we will outrun them by miles in the midfield.
I agree GB, we can beat them but we need another top performance. If I have a worry it's the short recovery time, basically 3 days. The Wembley game might have taken a bit out of some legs.
The Croatia side are big strong guys in the main, but from what I've seen of them not much pace in dangerous areas.
When the chances come we need to finally nail one.
Would you start Nisbet in with Adams?
I worry we go long to Dykes too often.

I think with Gimour's range of passing when we do go long we can get in behind them as their keeper is the polar opposite of Marshall and is glued to his line.I noticed that in their game v The Pub Team. Its almost set in stone that we will be unchanged but i honestly think we can finally score.
The result at Wembley was only a draw but people need to remember we were lambs to the slaughter going into that game according to the experts and that performance will have given Scotland massive confidence,at times they ran rings around the pre tournament joint FAVS.
They went into the lions den and tamed them and they must now feel that they can beat Croatia at Hampden and i truly believe all 11 who start will believe they can win.

    So here's a Euro 96 story.

I had allowed my Scotland clubby thingy to lapse and wasn't getting tickets for either game at Villa Park. (Netherlands Dutch Marijuana boys and the Swiss)

Getting a bit desperate I managed to get a letter from a contact at RAI the Italian TV broadcaster which would qualify me as a journalist. So I went to the press verification desk at Old Trafford and came out with a lanyard. True. Drove down the M6 with minutes to spare and got in there. As a journalist 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Holland game the atmosphere was immense, Scotland in the Holt end and Oranje the other, 0-0. The McCoist goal v Switzerland was greeted with bedlam even in the press boxes. People jumping about everywhere. Alas qualification was not to be but I'm still grateful to my Italian mate for getting me in. Glad I never got a ticket for Wembley.
    Forgot to add this

If we did get through and draw the Dutch where will it be played? In die Nederlandiche dutche stadion? The Dutch love us 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🧡
