Apparently we were keen to sign some breaded halloumi but couldn't stump up the £4.50 fee.
WTF
Have to defend tge 49’s a bit in this window. They sold some great players. Especially Gray.
However, they had more than a few that they tried to sign that said they did not want to come to Elland road. In the past Orta would have give the agent anything they wanted including release clauses to get the deal over the line.
Fxck them and their agent. Stand your ground and show some pride. We have a lot to offer and they can just go screw themselves. We will make the big time again and they can toil in thier relative obscurity
How does anyone (me included), know who we have approached or been turned down by? Answer.....we don't.
All we know is who we HAVE signed and having sold around £140m of first class players who have gone to PL sides and the equivalent in European leagues, we have low-balled around £30m for a bunch of players with zero Championship experience (the exception being Bogle) who even Farke has admitted in the case or Ramalndindong will need to acclimatise to the Championship because whether they play right now is "different". Well no **** Sherlock!!!!!
There IS NO TIME!!!! We did exactly the same in the last two closed seasons and "acclimatising" for newcomers never happened and then we saw the exodus of those who couldn't cope and this time we have seen similar, but this time because the club chooses to throw it's lot into a set of players with no record here in England rather than developing the kind of talent that helped us get £40m for Gray.
Strong as last season? Delusional.
I'm actually feeling quite sorry for Farke. At least when he first arrived we really do have some quality players, albeit they need to be given clarity and structure, and it nearly paid off.
Now he has a much diminished squad, with the majority of its core strength and skill having been sold off. He's now faced with the task of creating a cohesive, agile, combative team from a squad made up of the remnants of what was and the rag bag of crocks, hangers-on and never-will-be's acquired during this TW.
Better to play those who played against Wendies, hope they stay fit and that all the other sides are as sh1t as they were.
under the FFP/PSR restrictions, i don't think we've done terrible to bring in who we've brought in, only time will tell if the new lads are good enough or not
Agreed but possibly one more would have been good. If Solomon stays fit then looking better.
I'm a bit on the fence with our incomings - we needed to replace Rutter and we haven't , should have just paid the blunts what they wanted and got Hamer in , would have made them weaker and us stronger.
Time will tell how the new signings fair , fingers crossed it all works out.
