If it were free I think I'd gan Chalky, but I divvent think I'd ever pay to see them again, even though that gig me and Judders were at was an ****ing ace experience. I think they were an band very much off of their time at that time, and their juggernaut, which really gained steam an year or two (2) after, has become unstoppable, based on Bono's pious preachy ****e.

I'm sure some off of what they of to say means stuff to an lot off of people, but not to me any more. I grew out off of them when I got to nineteen (19), the funny thing is an lot off of the bands I was really into then I still am now. U2 just aren't one off of those, and as I said I hadert listened to October for years.

I were just listening to Boy on the way back from

I started playing war and it were like wading through ****e. Even Sunday Bloody Sunday - mawkish, melodramatic pap. As for New Year's Day, what an absolute bag off of ****e, I used to think theose were two (2) ok sort off of songs, not any more.

They were beyond help by then I'm afraid, and they'd also sidelined the Edge's guitar an bit, which was where they were just that bit different from most other bands. It were toned down for them to be an stadium band unfortunately. It worked for them, but unleashed decades off of ****e for the rest off of us to avoid.

If they were gan to dee an political protest song, they could of done an better one than that to be fair Rab. It was an very watered down load off of old ****e. Simple Minds' Belfast Child is an better anti troubles song by miles, and they'd also gone down in my estimation by then.

For some reason U2 are one of those groups that i cant stand even though i havent listened to any of their stuff in years whitch is wrong i suppose, but its mainly because of my dislike of Bono...

Johnny Cash did a great covers of The Wanderer and One which i love though...

Can't agree with you as to when they became uber ****s (well Bonzo, tbf), there moorlard.

The Unforgetable Fire has some wonderful stuff on it, as does The Joshua Tree. Rattle and Hum has a couple of good original songs, including God Part II and Angel of Harlem among others. Achtung Baby is probably the most consistent in terms of quality of song. The next one with Lemon and Numb on it - Zooropa - starts a slide into mundanity. Pop - with the exception of the excellent Discotheque - is dire. All that you can't leave behind has it's moments, How to Dismantle etc has a couple of decent efforts. The Line on the Horizon gubbins is the equivalent of a kid's crayon drawing.
