    For the record:

The flags will only be waved, pre kick off, when a goal is scored, half time, full time etc. Not when the match is in play, south standers won’t miss a kick of the action so don’t worry.

I am not involved in the 1884 group although I think it’s a cracking initiative. Nick Webster to my knowledge is not actively involved. That’s not to say it won’t happen in the future, he might already be involved? Who knows? Nick has done a lot for the club, again, naturally he is going to receive some criticism, not all fans will agree with his thoughts, but his intentions will all he does is good. I don’t know Nick personally, but I know he is one of the main reasons the home fans were relocated to the south stand and that has been a resounding success.

This type of movement will encourage the younger generation of supporters to follow derby, be a part of it. When there was a north stand group, I used to see kids of all ages in the stand rushing over at half time to join

And with regards to the opening post - on the one hand I don't mind people trying to raise the atmosphere but I also agree that the team has more impact than anything that happens in the crowd. I think the problem is not so much the lack of positive vibe from the stands, its the negativity that creeps in the moment things don't go to plan. I noticed a distinct shift in the matchday atmosphere the moment Steve arrived, prior to that you could have cut the air with a knife (if they'd let you take one in).

I know people who have put a hell of a lot of time into this 1884 venture, and while I'm in the traditional 1980s football ground atmosphere camp, it really is honourable what they have done.

I have heard the iPro in scintillating, spine-tingling form before and it is fantastic when in full swing. Let's see what the effect is before slagging it off. If you're lucky, Roger, and Angry, there might even be some jelly and ice-cream left over for you at the end to help you increase the size of your considerable haunches.

As for the negativity, I don't think it's any different to any other team. Especially as we're always seen as a big scalp in this division. It's much easier to create a 'never-say-die' attitude when you are the underdog, a la Burnley etc.

I find it useful. Fantastic for back-tracking on all of your posts!

Angry called me out on using a distasteful word and I was able to go back in time and take it back.

Maybe he will renege and withdraw the word he used to describe me too!
