    1884 group

Not sure if any of you lot are aware, but a group called "the1884group" was formed over the summer.

They were formed in the hope that they could enhance the atmosphere on match days by crowd funding.

They have raised over £2000 in the space of a few months which is a fantastic effort, and the club have confirmed they would match this.

So in actual fact the group have made over £4000.

With this money, they have bought a wide varitey of things from ticker tape, to flags, stickers, poles etc. The money left over will be used for further displays.

Tomorrow the south stand will be turned into a sea of black and white, so bring your scarves and flags!!

The eventual plan im lead to believe is to have every stand involved...

There are 3000 envelopes filled with confetti that will be released when the players come out from the tunnel.
320 varying types of flags. (dont take them home)
    100 baloons
    200 streamers
All the above will be used and abused tomorrow! Hopef

I have noticed that the iPro is a bit bland sometimes. Would be good to have flags that permanently hang in the stands like they do at Old Trafford. I also like what Bournemouth had at Dean Court with pictures of ex-players or famous moments on the sides of stands. Not really what you're posting about but I would like something like that in the future.

    Keep up the good work!

The post was simply made more to point out the fact that this group exists for those that didnt know! Also what to expect tomorrow and in future.

The club have mentioned they want to bring decoraters in to paint the inside of the ground. When you get through the turnstiles and enter the ground, its very bland. walls are bare, grey, and there is no design etc.

Couldn't agree more. We've got plenty of history. May as well show it off.

All in a good cause I know derby123 but, imo, there is just no substitute for simple positive vocal support. Not sure what it is about Derby but there seems to be a level of criticism and self doubt that I don't see replicated at other clubs. Once that blooming awful opening dirge is done, if things don't immediately go right the crowd just seem to be sensing a sort of 'here we go again - more failure' mentality...which I'm certain has an impact on young players, particularly those whose positions leave them nearest the crowd.

Don't know why but the songs that generate the most participation are invariably the anti- Forest ones...what's the point of that when we're playing Charlton or Middlesborough?

I've probably attended at least half the games that have ever been played at the iPro/Pride Park. There have been some great matches but not many atmospheres really stand out...Middlesborough (or Sunderland?) when Wanchope was harshly sent off was one exception and Sheff.Utd. in the

Is it me who just wants to puke?
    Streamers, Baloons, confetti ffs.

Just put a decent team on the pitch and let fans do what they do.. I hate all the pre-planned orchestrated stuff.

So the club have brought some large flags to be waived... Never seen that before.

I remember when going to football was just that, not going to a kids party. When we getting a bouncy castle and a ball pond?

Just off to puke now... Really looking forward to tomorrow, might get in my seat at 14:59 hrs.

There are bound to be people out there who are negative towards this sort of movement, not everyone will want to see this introuced however i think the majority, like myself would like to see this sort of thing on match days if it will help towards turning the ipro into a fortress.

The overall response has been very positive, there has been some criticsm, but only a little.

The crowd can have an impact on results, and if it helps us get closer to promotion, then im definitely all for it.

The football on the pitch is what get most fans excited and creates the atmosphere
its a game of football not a giant soft play.

Sick of this we must do everything the South Stand/ Flagman says attitude I will get behind the team like I have done for years but ultimately i am there to watch the football and be entertained by that not people waiving flags
