Yes - it's a bit ironic when we have all those "wingers": Marshall, Conway, Bennett, Mahoney, Taylor!Originally Posted by jordan12rhodes

Come to that, Robin, what to do with the forgotten man, Jason Lowe?Originally Posted by robinrover
He is presumably third in the pecking-order at right-back now (or fourth behind Nyambe?). As for his preferred defensive midfield position, well...where does he come in the list that presently includes Akpan, Lenihan, Guthrie, Evans and Williamson?
Things don't look bright for Chris Taylor or John O'Sullivan either, especially with youngsters like Mahoney and Tomlinson coming up fast.
The complication is, though, how many of the loanees will still be here next season?

I think Lambert answered his critics tactically against boro. IMO in changing formation, personell and approach he did something bowyer never seemed capable of, having a plan b, though to be fair, because bowyer was stuck with a certain someone(possibly against his will), maybe that would explain it.
It's just struck me that I have seen almost no comments about Graham's performance in the Boro game. Has anyone heard how he did?
I think Lowe will be sold unless he seriously impresses Lambert when fit
As for the defensive midfielders I feel Evans is more of a regular midfielder
Guthrie will be released along with Williamson
So really that leaves akpan and lenihan in that department and for me I am quite happy with that
with the wingers I believe this formation used yesterday won't be our permanent look just an effective way of nullifying the threat posed by Boro and allowing Gomez to damage their defence with his passing.
From the attendees of the brfcc forum, he did a job and led the line well. Not spectacular, just quietly effeciant.Originally Posted by AucklandRover
I am thinking lamberts signings will all add something to our team for all the criticism aimed towards them I feel they will give a required lift for what was a very stagnant group of players.
I'm really pleased with the impact Simeon Jackson has had in games. A big plus considering all the moaning about his signing, Barnsley reject etc
Bennett has improved every time he plays
I think ward will also play a key part he looks to be forming a useful partnership with duffy
Just to wind you up a little, JR, I'd say the oddest thing about this week is that we have brought in a player, Gomez, who could supply exactly the type of passes your unmentionablesake thrives on.Originally Posted by jordan12rhodes
Unfortunately, as Gomez was entering the front door, a certain person was leaving by the back one!
