Agree totally. With only one automatic promotion place, the only way to be sure of promotion is by dominating the league, much like Allerdyce's title winning team. The playoffs are always a bit of a lottery. You only need one bad performance and you don't go up. Much safer to build week in week out consistency and win the title.

I'd like to see a flair central midfielder in the Draper style.

    What is needed?

Time...patience....and a slightly different plan! After the debacle of last year we had to start pretty much of scratch, and this will take time but it’s worth it....look at Luton, and Harrogate! Stability and slow progress is king, I understand the emotional posts since Sunday but now is the time for us to keep the toys in the pram and get behind the slow building process currently being undertaken at the club. Even the owners said they didn’t expect promotion this year.

On the pitch I think things need tinkering with. Sunday aside we have a solid back line and if we can persuade Lacey to stay and get McCrory back fit we’ll be strong again. I would move Rose into the RB position and move Brindley on and keep Bakayogo as backup for left back.

Midfield is the main problem, and I remember saying this back in December. What formation are we going to play and who are we going to move on? If we’re going to play a 4-4-2 then we must surely move Doyle and O’Brien on....maybe in a coaching role?

In a 4-4-3 we have much better options and could use Doyle or O’Brien much more effectively and try and bring in some energy/muscle/creativity through good old football radar. Maybe two CM’s of two differing styles along with Crawford could see us through and with the options of Enzio, Roberts, Dennis and Thomas we are looking good.

Oh....and let’s start games properly from the off with real intent and desire to dominate teams!

    Simple.

To be honest TSANHO, I've always thought playing a 4-4-3 was quite unfair on the opposing team, although it may help with the dominating bit.

Agree with the general sentiments. We are a good team for this league but that will not make us champions - which is the only sure way of getting promoted.

We need more pace, aggression, youth.

A new manager would be a good starting point "in my opinion".

What we need is a full squad from day one, a proper pre season and an established pattern to our play that we couldnt develop last season until around Sept by which time we had played upwards of 8 league games. Our August league fixtures were our pre season games. Therefore whilst many on here are unable to be honest and say it, NA his backroom staff and the owners deserves our gratitude and support for a job well done to get to the playoff final. Instead we get disgraceful insults of management and players. Shame on those who continue with this negative campaign to undermine the club.

This season, backed again by another chairman, failed to gain promotion?

The reasons for relegation, and the failure on sunday remain the same, NA negative tactics, of slow start, no plan when things go against him , poor defense. He just has no tactics against teams with a high press, and a busy midfield?
Can you post about something other than getting rid of Ardley? You seem to have an obsession.

I guess its the same obssesion that some have got that NA has done no wrong, and he is the only manager that can take them forward, despite his obvious failure , despite being well backed by 2 different chairman

When i have i said he should be sacked at this time? On balance he probably deserves another season for his performance based on this season , but its borderline because he never learns, people talk of progress this season but for me there has been none. The same horrors that were on show sunday , were the same problems that relegated us in the first place. NA cant deal with high press, starts slow, and the defense crumbles when under pressure

Do you really think that will change next season, i doubt it very much it will be more of the same , but there is allways hope he will

    Sorry, you haven't.

In fact, on the other thread, before Sunday, you posted that you are 100% behind him!
