Behind all the hysterical drivel, here's a glimpse of what's really happened,

"Rather than using gentle persuasion, the Home Secretary has at times (by her own admission) allowed her impatience to show, as she tries to put in place the policies on which this Government was elected. A Cabinet Office investigation into Ms Patel’s conduct has concluded that she breached the ministerial code by failing to treat her civil servants with “consideration and respect” – but also that she had legitimate reasons for not feeling supported by a service that lacked flexibility in responding to her requests."

In other words she kicked some shiny suited backsides, because they weren't doing the job they were paid to do. Good for her.

"In backing the Home Secretary, Boris Johnson has made it clear that he will support ministers when they run up against the Civil Service. It’s fair to say that senior figures on Whitehall are hardly overjoyed. Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s ethics advisor, Sir Alex Allan, resigned over the matter. He followed Sir Philip Rutnam, former permanent secretary at the Home Office, who when he "resigned" last February issued a public denunciation of Ms Patel’s conduct, claiming that she was wont to shout at officials and make “unreasonable demands” of them. It’s not hard to infer that Ms Patel’s determination to, for example, deport foreign criminals or halt the flow of illegal migrants, clashed with the cautious pragmatism of her civil servants. Her efforts to get a grip on her department clearly ruffled some establishment feathers and she wouldn’t be the first minister to have been the target of maneouverings by disgruntled officials."

Of course they're not overjoyed, the Sir Humphrey's don't like it when they come across a Minister who won't play their game. Boris has put them back in their box. Good for him. A trivial little storm in a tiny teacup, how anyone can work themselves into a lather over this sort of tripe is way beyond me.

Your support for a culture of bullying surprises me sinkov. I thought deep down you were one of the good guys. Obviously not.

"A trivial little storm in a tiny teacup, how anyone can work themselves into a lather over this sort of tripe is way beyond me."

The Home Secretary runs this as part of her daily brief, how she is still in a job defies logic...

Yes, it's problem BT, I can see that, come Monday morning there's thousands of playground bullies going to be wandering round schools looking for victims, thinking they can beat up up some snotty nosed little kid because Priti Patel gave some civil servants a bo11ocking.

I can imagine playground bullies the length and breadth of the land have been following this case closely. Not.

Sometimes BT, I despair for you.

Priti Patel has broken the Ministerial Code. Boris Johnson should have sacked her.

The fact that the independent adviser on ministerial standards has felt the need to resign means that no one can have confidence in Boris Johnson’s handling of these bullying allegations.

Bullying is a destructive force with devastating consequences. We must not tolerate it anywhere in our society – and certainly not at the highest levels of Government.

The job of the Prime Minister is to set an example, but once again Boris Johnson has failed. He seems to believe there is one rule for him and his allies and another rule for everyone else. That is unacceptable.

There is of course a Civil Service Code too.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/public...l-service-code

Given the Home Office attitude to Europe and stopping Brexit, it’s not surprising Pritti got mad

    It includes

    You must not:

frustrate the implementation of policies once decisions are taken by declining to take, or abstaining from, action which flows from those decisions.

    You must not:

allow your personal political views to determine any advice you give or your actions.

    You must not:

act in a way that unjustifiably favours or discriminates against particular individuals or interests

She should have disciplined the offenders for not doing their duty.

    Latest comment from Boris...

I tried really hard to sack Priti Patel for breaking the ministerial code, but she twisted my arm behind my back, said, "Shut the **** up, fat boy" and stole my dinner money.
