That's not to say we can't give it a good go though does it .
It’s a big ask to keep this going til the end of the season. If Ismael had come in earlier it would have been a different story. I actually think COVID has been a help to this squad. No fans in the grounds has made it a more level playing field for this young side, there’s no difference at the moment if you’re playing at Wycombe or Pride Park as all the games have a reserve match feel about them with less pressure with no fans. They can just go out and do their thing without being nervous in front of 25000 fans.

Think it also helps that this is the weakest Championship in years imo

I don’t understand that - please elaborate more.

The owners have explained how they want to progress the club.
They identify young talent - develop the player - and as the young players get better the team progresses - and then when the time is right and the price is right they will sell a player on.

I can’t see anything wrong in that.

The owners aren’t lucky at recruiting - they are brilliant at it. And have been for years now.
I’ve posted earlier that we are currently lacking that bit of magic from a player like Hammill or Hignett.
A player that can unlock stubborn defences like Bristol.
But that player may already be at the club - they just haven’t gained enough experience yet to break into the first team.
I tend to agree nudger I don’t get this total dislike of the owners. Okay they may not have much charisma but they’re giving us a very respectable season with some very progressive young talent and looking at the ownership of our near nieghbours it could be a lot worse.

No doubt about it ESR the Championship has come towards us and the present climate in stadiums plus the five sub rule have given us a massive benefit .

We've also turned ourself in to a very physical side , the type of championship team we hated playing against last sesson .

I firmly believe the financial situation surrounding the Championship will contine in to next season too .

The squad does lack real quality but they are very good at what they do which hides the flaws within the group .

Even Hecky's 2016 team had more quality in the squad especially going forward , four goals at Wolves , three at Villa and five at Cardiff for example .

I pointed to what Wilder did at the Blunts in a post the other day , they had a totally unique style of play without having the greatest championship players .

I think we are in that kind of territory and if we could just improve in possession with a bit of quality we could be on to something next season .

Warnock is the same , no matter where he goes he's never the best championship players at his disposal , I shook my head the other year when he got that Cardiff team promoted automatically , Val is from that mould .

Warnock's never played the greatest football by any means but just look at his record .

I share the same views Young Nudger but when I used to post things like that I was shot down in flames because evidently the board are the devils children.I suppose now we are winning games some posters are mellowing but my own views have remained steadfast. They came with a plan, explained the plan and have stuck to the plan.Long may it continue.

Of course it's a gamble but since when was the business of football not a risk and reward industry ? .

I'm trying to ensure we all win Bill under this ownership .

It's not very often doors open for this club at this level and it would be a crying shame not to recognise the opportunity that's opened up .
I've over estimated those prices mainly because I thought Heaton was younger, having said that Villa paid £8m for him last season.I don't think Armstrong will go for less than 15m and possibly 4-5m for Connor. My view still remains that I'm not sure I want to see BFC spending that kind of money seeing whats happened at S6,Birmingham and Derby to a degree. After watching the reds for 55 years I'm quite patient and I would prefer a gradual improvement both on and off the field.

But what is the plan Bill ?

    What's the ambition ?

Where is this leading to ?

    Nobody tells us .

I've emailed Dane as to why they don't reveal to us what the ambitions are , do a presentation to the fans via YouTube for instance and engage with us .

He just said the prefer a low profile and don't like publicity .

That just fuels the lack of trust in my opinion .
