Number Of Points That It Takes In League Two, Based On The Last 10 Seasons

Our points per game ratio over the season thus far, if continued, indicates that this would be our final total :-

(61 / 34) * 46 = 82.53

81 points would have been at least 1 point more than 4th in 7 of the last 10 seasons. 82 points would have been the same.
83 points would have been at least 1 point more than 4th in 8 of the last 10 seasons.

Which League Two finishing position most often provides the overall Play-Off winning team?

We have a very good goal difference this season and might not need an extra point. Just saying like.

Anyway, it looks like the average is 81 points, if so we need another 20 from 12 games. Six wins and two draws would get us that.

However if it was to be another 2015-16 we’d need 86 and 25 points from 12 games is a big ask. Eight wins and a draw? Or seven wins and 4 draws?

Not really - as all the other teams would have the same targets. I suspect third place points will be relatively low this season given the number of teams still in the zone of possibilities. Of course on paper we have the most challenging run in

With ¾ of the season played the team in 4th place has a ratio of points per game that indicates its final points total to be :-
(59 / 34) * 46 = 79.82

So, with 4th place finishing on 80 points a team finishing on the stated 81 points would finish above that team.
