Can I assume you have been on the sauce again?

Anyway, as I have been asked the questions I will give an answer as that it what is required. Both questions have the very same answer so that is a bonus. Think of a number and then double it.

    Poofters?
    Lightbulbs?
    Holes?

I'd rather not think about it.

If a man is 17, and his son is 23, do you think he’s clever?

Aye. There you go. Not so highbrow after all ?!!

My Parents took me to see The Pirates of Penzance at Her Majesty`s when I was a young lad.

( And this was the part of song that stuck in my mind)

I had the assistant lampie gig for Pirates at school in 1972 or 73, and did HMS Pinafore two years before, but I was just an onlooker. We saw a good production of Pirates at HMT about 5/6 years ago (an orchestra’s aye a sight to see, and a delight to hear), and I quite often dig out some G&S on Spotify as a bit of a change from Chicago and Delta blues, and ranting leftie podcasts. They, and Flanders and Swann are what I believe are termed “guilty pleasures”, but are just great tunes and very clever lyrics.

It could just well be a trick of numbers. The man could well be 17 years old but the son is 23 days old. Admittedly I am stretching it for an answer here.
