There’s a Keith Hackett twitter page, please tell me it’s real and not a parody

So at Rotherham Utd a player runs to the crowd to celebrate a goal. He gets his first yellow card. Manchester Utd score and run to the crowd - no action by Referee Hooper.

Like i said before, we shouldn't run to the edge of the pitch and keep the fake yellow in your pocket. If we give some of these muppet refs(and there's more to come) the chance to flash the cards, then they will.
We must learn to be more cute, don't give them the chance................................UTM.

Sound advice indeed. Yes, the euphoria feeling when you score a goal is great and emotions can run amok, however, caution will have to ensue and players should aim to remain well within the playing area if they are not to take on a stupid booking by over celebrating, shirt off etc, or risk getting shoved into your home crowd by your own players.

As for the ‘fake’ yellow….. that was plain silly and lacked professionalism and let’s hope he learnt from that mistake.

As for ‘making Webb accountable’ IF, he questions Refs who officiate our games about their glaring mistakes, he could face a backlash of being over bias, as he clearly lets it well known if his love for his home town club. He’s in a no win situation with that dilemma.

Agree BOTN we do. How many more times will we be done over this season if not by inconsistent and crap refs. Like i said earlier we have a good team this year there us no reason why we can't do well if we are given a fair crack of the whip. That's all I ask.

Roly, think you should check your blood pressure mate,CALM DOWN !
Football is a simple game played by simple folk, we don't need more pointless rules that complicates it even more, and makes a game as long as an NFL match.
Scrap the current stupid offside rule, go back to how it used to be, as soon as the ball is played you're offside....simple.
Players booked for diving should be red carded instead.
Keep the shirt off booking, be must stricter on goalies time-wasting, and ditch bloody VAR.
Encourage ex players to train as referees.

I was about to post about Calm down
Agree with what you’re saying, why fix something that wasn’t broke in first place.
The keepers will waste more time than anyone on pitch especially with the two players in box for him to then wave them away after 5 mins and if the ball goes out to one side of the net he should be taking it from that side not walking to other side

We’re just fans who know **** all anyway so they’ll not listen to us.

Anyway let’s calm down and wait to see if it settles down, it’s got to at some point surely

MT, speak for yourself I'm an ex Ref, I do know the rules and more importantly how to use a common sense approach in games, which sadly, many of today's officials don't use. Agree on the second yellow but not the first for Fred.

We pay to watch the footballers. Not the referees. The best Refs let the game flow and go unnoticed.
Howard Webb is responsible for this mess he has to admit his mistake before people start falling out of love with football.
Unfortunately I’m starting to feel this way about the game now. I’m not sure I can justify the time and money spent watching a game that consistently ruins the rest of my weekend. I’m still seething about Saturday’s debacle this morning and perhaps the worst about it is that as fans we’re completely helpless. The clown Madley will continue to put in poor performances, but continue to pick up his pay packet and continue to referee at this level no matter what happens.

Im not going to game and not sure I want to listen to it (always seems worse) for radio’s sake

How many fans were spitting blood on Saturday?
I have a blood pressure monitor but definitely wouldn’t be using it for a few days
