We should have won that 2-5.
    Easy chances just squandered.

There goal coming from a cross to the back post - a weak spot in the Barnsley team which opponents have recognised this season.
Hopefully the arrival of Pines and Earl will remedy that.

Maybe if you’d seen the whole game you’d have thought differently nudges, there were chances for both teams but certainly that 15 minutes after half time you could and probably should have won the match. I think going forward you need to bear in mind that Wanderers were missing both our captain Santos, vice Captain Jones in central defence and our best attacking midfield player in Thomason and we were just all over the place at the back with a makeshift defence. Charles and Victor were awful as they have been for a few weeks now so I think yesterday you were very lucky to play us when you did but I wouldn’t use that game as a yardstick on us. Even so we also good chances to win the game which we just blew so I think on balance a draw was a fair result but I’m certainly hoping next time we meet the proper Wanderers will show up. 😉

A remarkable away record of W8 D5 L1 as opposed to a home record of W7 D3 L5, the only away defeat being 0-3 at Derby.

can we play all our remaining games away from Oakwell ?

As I said I didn't see the game so won't comment in detail on it .

I think we'd all have taken the point if offered before the game so that's fair enough .

We've missed chances by the sounds of it but there's plenty of our opponent's this season not put them away either .

Evens itself out does football over a season .

I was impressed by our performance yesterday. 1st half we get the early goal, caught Bolton cold, great start but we sat back on it and let Bolton come onto us. We kept a solid shape defensively and kept them comfortably at bay despite all their possession and probing. The possession stats were 72% to 28% in Boltons favour at half time.
However, they only hurt us through set plays which were clever and straight off the training ground. We got caught out 3 times on the back post and Bolton should've capitalised on our slack marking.

Second half we started like a house on fire. We pushed up the pitch and started high pressing like we did at Peterborough. Bolton struggled to cope as we asked questions of their defenders ball playing ability and started to force mistakes. We should've put the game to bed in that period of play, we really should've. However, despite us looking a big threat in the first 25 mins of that second half, I always had the feeling that Boltons quality would tell. Their equaliser came against the run of play but it was an excellent cross and header. From then on in it was nip and tuck as we tired and Bolton finished the more strongly. 1-1 was a fair result in my opinion.

By the time we next play you, we should have some considerable more height in our defence too (Pines in, Williams to right wing back). Connell will have hopefully had a decent run in the team too to get his fitness and speed more up to it. Just because Adeboyejo and Charles were poor, why does that mean we were lucky to play you at this time? Evatt didn’t have to choose them and there’s no guarantee Collins would’ve had the same impact when starting like he did off the bench.

First half I thought you had a lot of the ball but didn’t create anything from open play, only corners. Should’ve done a lot better with the headers you had from those.

The chances we had were absolutely guilt edge and on any other day, all 3 would’ve been finished off.

I think a draw was possibly a fair result, maybe slightly leaning towards us a bit more. Should be a good match at Oakwell in a months time.

I actually don’t disagree with most of that Nerf except that you caught us on a bad day with a very inexperienced defence and a forward pair terribly off form and our most creative midfield player suspended. That sounds like an excuse but it’s not, it’s fact I’m afraid. For me we were lucky to get a point and I fully agree that you had gilt edged chances after the break which should have killed the game. Once again you outthought Evatt coming out after the break and high pressing our defenders into mistakes but I’m sure with Santos and Jones there you wouldn’t have done it so easily. Anyway we don’t have long to wait for the rematch at your place but with a bit of luck we’ll have everybody back and the new signings settled in by then so hopefully with two strong sides we should enjoy a good battle for the points?

It certainly should be an exciting game under the lights. We’ve got Derby at home 10 days before so 2 big games at home that could have a potentially big impact on the table come the end of the season.
