The root difference isn't football - it's basic intelligence.

We should have won at Luton with a bit more concentration who got promoted
We should have won at Coventry but for a very dubious penalty. They went to Wembley
We should have got a point at Burnley if not for yet another horrendous gaff from the officials. We were winning twice and they went up.

No Manager does the above by struggling to get a performance away from home

This season he was derailed by a catastrophic injury list and we got worse under him because of that reason not by any tactical
Nativity or thinking he was better than he was
If we’d had the majority of our squad available with just the odd injury we would be in Huddersfield,s position now bearing down on the likes of Stoke and Birmingham
All last season and the same excuses for this season, all those matches with someone else’s squad. He led the recruitment and made the decision to take risks with certain players that had a higher risk of injury. It seems the pro-mt fan club don’t see any of his faults and have excuses for his failings. Yet again the manager with the biggest budget of our history and he failed. Before I get accused of not seeing his positives, I do, yes we attacked more at home, yes he brought in Christ and nombe that are good long term investments, but he made mistakes and was sacked because of the outcome, the results. I accept that some think he deserved longer, but others of us weren’t as convinced.

    I’m looking at this way.

    We go down!

We get promoted in our centenary year!

TS sells and leaves as a hero!
The point about the centenary is a good one. TS is sure to want to be in charge of such a milestone, and what better way to crown your reign than with a promotion.

But will he sell or hand over the reins to son Richard? I've never met either but the impression I get from a distance is that junior might not be too bothered about inheriting this drain on his inheritance.

If you look at the financial structure of the club, RU Estates and even ASD Lighting, the venture hasn’t resulted in any drain on their personal wealth.

They have equity in the stadium and his business has grown.

Taking Rotherham United on when he did had its perks.

    Good luck to him.

Great post flour. Some can't see past the signing of the 3 injury prone CB and the Wednesday away performance....

As I mentioned on the other thread. Loosing barlaser Ogbene and wiles was never going to be replaced with 2 million...
Christ tiehi, Sam nombe and Andre green maybe Phillips and kioso are a few players MT has brought in who could be great investments ...

Another thing to take into account is,
It's not free to keep sacking mangers and their back room team.
    Especially on our tight budget.

It must have cost us a fair bob to pay off MT
Now some want LR gone too!

We need to stand with our team
    (I know it's frustrating)
Like Brin said and others on here,
I also remember the darker days,
    Appreciate our imperfect club.

It’s not that people want LR gone it’s that MT was sacked and since then we’ve got worse.
We’re voicing our opinions doesn’t mean we don’t know the dark days I certainly do.
Like some have said what was the point in sacking a manager and replacing him with someone who doesn’t look any better if not worse?

It's interesting reading the different views about who was better, the previous or current manager.
If people recall, TS said at the pre-recruitment stage that the standard of applicants was very high but, despite that, we ended up with someone who had recently got promoted from League 2 followed by someone else who had been unemployed for well over a year.
If TS was telling the truth then neither should have got the job as they are nowhere near the standard required to manage in the Championship. However, we have to assume it was the usual bullshine and the choices were somewhat limited.
So, to answer the question posed by the original post, it appears we are not in a position to attract anyone of proven quality and will always end up with the best of an average bunch.
I seem to recall that MT was second choice and wasn't LR 4th choice?
We are simply not an attractive proposition for a competent Championship manager and that will continue to be the case until there is fundamental change at the club.
