Like others have said, we were doomed from the start with that line up. Midfield woefully undermanned and got over run by Brum. When i watched Brum against Wrexham i thought the 2 players from Japan and S Korea would run the show for them, and against our midfield, they did very easily. Pass and move into space is something our team/management don't understand.
How anyone could pick a RUFC player for the MOM is beyond me.
If tactics/results dont change very soon, then it's time to clear your desk Steve. This is shocking football, not against Brum, but against every team we've played so far.
Yes most sane people probably expected us to lose and that duly happened but it's the manner of the defeat that should concern us.
The original team selection defied belief and then not surprisingly those that started were completely disorganised and ran about like headless chickens chasing pointless hoofs upfield.
What we are witnessing seems like a seamless transition from last season with the same rubbish but provided by a different set of players.
You've talked the talk Evans so you need to start walking the walk pretty damn quick.......if you can be bothered to get off your ar$e that is 😡.
It was a shambles from the start. If you're going to have a go at them, you don't play 5 at the back and leave midfield short handed, which was constantly over run.
Some one mentioned trouble in the dressing room, i agree, something seriously wrong...................utm
Don’t like to criticise my team but we were piss poor.
We had many issues last season but for me the main ones that absolutely killed us were a complete lack of width and pace. We still have this same problem in my opinion. Everyone knows I didn't want Evans for reasons that don't need repeating again, but I fully expected him to spot this issue, rectify it, and have us at least playing a more 'Rotherham' style of football. Today could've been a Matt Taylor team.
Evans has talked up his signings this summer but with the possible exception of Humphreys for Ihiekwe, which of this current squad would get in the last League One team we had?
He's got a very good promotion record but his only one at this level was with us ten years ago. They've all been from league two or non league otherwise and only one of them since he left us.
