Ist one I can just remember was some sort of charity game where I think One of the teams was a Police team - oOt got a clue why my Dad would have picked that one. First baggies game I can remember was against Chelsea, just before Jimmy Greave left for AC Milan, so must have been around 1961 ish I think Derek Kevan scored with a diving header at the Smethwick end - That sticks in my mind

An interesting thread, this, what a diverse bunch we are. Circumstance, however, could have taken us elsewhere. When I was born, my parents lived on Kingsbury Road, Erdington, Villa territory! My grandfather was a Villa supporter, although I don’t remember him ever going to Villa Park, which is probably very fortunate for me as he may well have taken me along………! The consequence of that is inconceivable! Fortunately, we moved to Halesowen when I was about 8 years old. Fate, eh?

I’m not absolutely sure but I think it was the 1957/58 season. We played CDSA Moscow for the opening and I think that we played Chelsea in the first league game under lights. Could be wrong though!

December 15 1973 Portsmouth home, lost 2 -1. Stood in the woodman corner and remember just peeking through gaps in the crowd just to see the players.

The earliest I can remember was v Man Utd around 1968? Saw George best, remember that but being so small I mostly saw the corner flag. Huge crowd.
