It?s a good point about Potter. If Areola or the lad from Brighton go to Spuds (which is highly possible IMO) then their careers will follow that of Potter and take a downhill plunge. A good manager isnt enough to turn that clubs fortunes around.
I think Chelsea will stick with Maresca more than I think ManU will stick with Amorim. Whats the odds of one of those two good young managers going to Spuds and the other to ManU? Theyll get very rich and crash their careers in short time.

I would imagine that all of the main players in the squad, by that I mean the nailed on first team starters, are eagerly looking to see who is joining them next window so as to be excited to push on to the next level.

Two or three top class joiners will not only improve the squad, they will get more out of the others already in the squad.

Another one from the BBC Rumour pages. Top two stories feature Newcastle United.

Nottingham Forest and Newcastle are both interested in Liverpool and Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez, 25, who looks increasingly likely to leave Anfield. (Teamtalk, external)

Liverpool's pursuit of Newcastle United and Sweden striker Alexander Isak, 25, is gaining traction. (Givemesport)

So, by 'Gaining Traction' is absolutely meaningless. We all know that there is no way Isak is leaving the club this summer.

The Chances of Newcastle Signing Dud Nunez are zero, in my opinion.

    The Bindips paid €75million + €25million in add-ons great deal. (£58,868,498 + £20,933,552)

His value on Transfermarkt is £49,617,73459. Nunez' record for Played 88 / scored 25 - Goal ration 1 in 3.52

    Dwight Gayle's record for Newcastle United - Played 113 / scored 34 - Goal ration 1 in 3.32

Don't think I need to say more.

On the Isak to LiVARpool front.

I see now that they are swapping Quansah and Nunez for him.

Gets more ridiculous each rumour, or ITK account talking.

haha yeah Stan Clownimore was spouting all this nonsense.

Not even with ?150million + the 2 players would I let Isak go.

Quite frankly it would have to be a world record fee for a player and he would have had to have asked to go before I even began to consider it.

Amorim was over here in Qatar earlier in the month. I have a suspicion that he's been speaking to the Ministry of Sport to take over as the National team Coach. Which means he'll be leaving Man U in the summer. Rats deserting the sinking ship??

Chelsea's new model is not on the same level as Roman's Chelsea. Maresca has done a good work. They need to be realistic. The situation is clear, Boehly assumed that he'd just buy a crop of top quality potential players and boom, they'd challenge for titles. Those that don't make the grade would be 'traded for profit.' That's how things work in US sports. The player value isn't affected by poor performances.

In the USA the player registration is owned by the leagues. Players are TRADED between clubs - watch 'Moneyball' for a better insight as to how player trading works - the value of the player is based on remaining contract length & player age.

So in Boehly's head, the players he purchased are all going to appreciate in value. Sadly for Toddy-boy. This isn't Lala land & this is real sport.
The players he's purchased have all pretty much depreciated in value. Mykhailo Mudryk as a perfect example. ?62 million rising to ?89 million. Now TransferMarkt have him valued at ?30m.

?30m seems like a far more reasonable value. So basically Chelsea have a squad players they paid 2x more than their actual value. Their salaries are all on the high side too. So basically, they have a squad of depreciated assets on massive salaries that they won't be able to sell on without subsidising a percentage of their salaries. Right now they've sold off all the assets the club owned to Boehly's other companies. Meaning that for Chelsea to invest in more players, they'll have to take massive losses on the current crop to clear the decks. It's gonna be an interesting couple of seasons for Chelsea as they struggle financially & struggle to remain relevant and challenge for the European places.

Potter at West Ham might be a good match, depending on how much patience Sullivan has with him.

All's I can say is, it's good for Newcastle United. The Cartel clubs being destabilised is the perfect opportunity for us to capitalise and cement our place in the top 4 on a constant basis.

We're all loving Forest's foray into the top 4 and good on them. Any proper football fan has to applaud them for their consistency and quality performances across the season so far! Good on them!

    We want him to stay.

    He is under contract.

    He is worshipped.

He knows his team mates and they know him and they now know how to give him a platform to produce - something that there is no guarsntee would happen elsewhere.

Ultimately its what the player wants and I think he sees more trophies where he is and wants more.

With top 4 and 2-3:quality players in - GK, RW to challenge Murph, and help for Isak up front - as good as he is he can't play every game, a young CB prospect would also be good - all this and there will be plenty of good reasons to stay

No matter what fee is offeref I don't think the owners sell.

Lads and lasses, he is going nowhere.
