We desperately need Ross Graham back to get that defence sorted out, it's diabolical right now. That pitch was f*cking horrendous though

Poor game. Defence is a concern. Shifting to many avoidable goals. Luca being back will help in the mean time.

For the first killie goal the space between Bert and kritzian was ridiculous!

Good to see Dario come on. Like Luca can play left wing back role. So some options there.

There is no doubt young Owen is going to be a top player but although we don?t have much option. I think we are asking too much of him to lead our attack. Took his goal well but at the moment he lacks the physicality. Something defenders will pick up on.

The break has come at the right time for us.

I think several of our players found it very difficult to play on that pitch. I'm sure a few of the overseas players were thinking what the f$$$k is this all about.

Home advantage is home advantage without the additional advantage of a plastic pitch.

There was only 1 club in the premier league with a plastic pitch, last season? I can?t understand the extra years delay to get rid of them entirely. That pitch today looks like the quality of astro pitches, from when I was at High School in the 80s. The Livingston pitch is every bit as horrendous.

I think taking off Fatah pretty much killed our chances of beating Killie. Our best player today and to take him off, ffs Goodwin. Horrible pitch that, but given that Killie, Falkirk & Livingston have them I heard a rumour that they were going to contest them having to be replaced............

Do we need a few a players in the spine of the team over thirty? We had Gallagher and Moult that were over thirty last season not sure about other ages of Docherty and Holt?

Does anyone know if the reserve games are getting played at Tannadice on a Monday evening? Would be good to go along and see what we have in reserve and how they setup in games. Read somewhere that it was under19s with a few older age players allowed. That rule needs binned for a start. Years ago youngsters learnt more by playing with seasoned pros coming back from injury or ones on the fringes of the first team. To basically have it under19s is phucking stupid imo.

are the defensive issue solvable on the training ground or is it just not good defenders? How often do you hear managers of the teams toiling near the bottom lamenting their defence and saying they will be on the training ground working on it Monday, a week later they are saying the same thing. You can work on certain aspects all week, but if someone decides during a match to not track an opponent from a set peace, what can you do, other than eventually change personnel eventually.

JG should hire a set piece coach. Its worked so far for Hearts offensively. Its the direction football is going in. It just seems we are being outsmarted by other teams making runs in the box which should be solvable.

No being funny but we need a set piece coach to be able to defend a corner? No chance.

JG must be tearing his hair out at the defending from corners so far. I'd imagine what he'll be doing is analysing and noting who isn't doing what they are being asked and eventually, when we have more options available, changes will be made.

I'm actually confident about that based on JG's record with us so far. His options are limited by inquiry so much just now.

The irony is Hearts set piece coach is Ross Grant who came from United

"Heart of Midlothian Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Ross Grant as the club’s first Set Play Coach.

Bringing 15 years of experience to Gorgie across grassroots and professional settings, Ross also holds degrees in sports and performance coaching from Abertay and the University of Stirling.

Ross joins the Jambos from Premiership side Dundee United, where he spent four years coaching in the professional phase of the Tannadice academy."

Forming a key part of Derek McInnes’ backroom staff, he will provide tailored coaching and analysis to the first team as part of a data driven approach to improving both attacking and defensive set piece outcomes."

They beat us with 2 rehearsed set pieces.
