Apologies if this has been posted, but I see in the (ever reliable) P&J that we are hoping to make the lad we borrowed from Celtic permanent in January.
So, let's say he turns out to be great and he does move to us permanently, is it such a bad thing having him for those 6 months to seeing he's suitable. Equally, if he's pish we can send him back with no commitmen and haven't wasted a load of cash.
But, in the more likely scenario, if he's great then the Tims just take him back and we have developed him a bit more for them.
So on the one hand it could be a good move, on the other hand it could go to sh*t
Thoughts? Whilst there are (slight) potential positives, I would say he either comes permanently or not at all. But if he's great and ends up here I will be prepared to forgive the loan deal in this instance!!!
Also, I see the one we borrowed last year is off to one of St Somebodys to continue his development there. F***n joke.
But then, it begs the question, if we had a promising youngster who wasnt quite first team ready, what would we think if we sent him to St Johnstone (for example) to gain experience. Does our ire work both ways?
