Indeed it is a can of worms but the answer will only be found if ALL factors are considered and not just those that are politically correct.

Hebei: China locks down 400,000 people after virus spike near Beijing.

'Swift and dangerous turn' in Texas cases, says governor
Over just the past few weeks, the daily number of cases have gone from an average of about 2,000, to more than 5,000," Mr Abbott said on Sunday.
Several southern and western states have recorded a surge in cases after lockdown restrictions were eased.
The number of reported infections in the US has now surpassed 2.5 million.
Over 125,000 Covid-19 patients are confirmed to have died nationwide - more than in any other country.

I worry about a spike here after all the marches and partying, there seems to be more than a few people who simply dont care.

NUT a few years ago said 40% of teachers were thinking of leaving their profession, are we really going to get these people off Furlough?

Which teachers do you know are on furlough?

All those I know are working as usual, delivering either to vulnerable learners in schools or delivering online learning. I don't know of one teacher who has been furloughed?

I only know one, his golf handicap is coming on a treat, another mate was in tears when he was told that he had to go back to his work...

You didn't ask them why they weren't still working either in school or (like most teachers) preparing and delivering online?

Anyone on here with kids had situations where their school has stopped delivery altogether and staff furloughed? The only reasons I can think of for furloughing a teacher would be if the teacher was manifestly hopeless as tech and unwilling to learn and adapt as 99% of teachers have had to work hard to do. Ie a liability teacher that can't be gotten rid of, so sent out of their way so real teachers can do the job. That sound like your mates? Certainly sounds like at least one of them! Feel sorry for the kids he gets.
