Dundee

I've started a thread on how well Dundee has done over the decades.

I really enjoy visiting that city even for the football..

The cities inhabitants have always been polite to myself..

But the disappointing thing on this topic is it's turned into an argument..

Come on lads lets move on and leave all this behind it's no that hard to do..

Remember it's not nice for other posters to read it spoils it..

Unfortunately history is a sore subject for wee flower.

Makes you wonder if he was one of the DAB scabs bussed in to break the strike

Cracking city i must admit, only thing i don't understand is why the bus station is miles awa fae the train station. Any other city in Europe or otherwise have them both very close.

Some years ago the local council actually came up with a plan to build a travel hub right next to the train station. The idea was that all buses both local and beyond would be centralised in a new state of the art facility alongside the trains. The HMRC office now stands on the site. The reason it was never built? Well British Rail at the time owned the land refused point blank to sell it or have anything to do with the plan. Their reason = too much competition on their doorstep [/quote]

That was standard British Rail policy back in the day. Even though trains and buses were both run by the state. There are loads of towns up and down Britain where the bus station is nowhere near the train station.

Was in Dundee a few weeks back and liked it a lot.

I havent done a lot of, or any, research on this but I reckon it's maybe probably possibly the most Scottish city in Scotland. Glasgow is obsessed with Ireland and Edinburgh is more English than Scottish. So that only leaves Dundee. So there it is - Dundee, most Scottish city in Scotland. Almost definitely.

Another trait of the tartanban. Seems like people and now places can be more or less Scottish than others. Silly me, I thought all places in Scotland would be equally Scottish. But it seems not in the Wee Reich

Interestingly, some places fail the racial purity test on the basis of links to England and Ireland. I wonder what you make of people in say Glasgow with links to say, India or Pak1stan.?

Once more a thread showing our hometown in a positive manner ruined by the most bitter wee troll on here. All a bit sad really. Seems that the school holidays haven't helped the poor wee soul.

Looks like I'm going to Dundee next Sunday sampling some of the nice coffee shops I've been give a few to check oot from Elite..

buc min, Dundee is just like any other city in Scotland, some affa fine places and like most others some affa hovels mind you, I might pop down there today for a couple of beers as the loon is golfing at Forfar, from the last time I visited I went to the ship and fisher mans down by the shore
