And his daily commute to training from Alderley Edge will take him an extra hour each day - bit of a pain for Jason and his "needy" wife.

As for the fee, it has been widely reported (including the reliable BBC) that Derbuy paid "in excess" of £3 million for Mr Sheckel (sorry Shackell).

For those Derby fans with a poor grasp of grammar and the English language...."in excess" means more than (or above).

So which ever way you look at it, it means Derby paid "more than" £3 million OR "above" £3 million.......not less or lower.

It's £3.25 million......£3.5 million if you get promoted.

Edit: Plus his £30,000-a-week (£4.5 million over 3 years), PLUS hefty signing-on fee, PLUS Promotion bonuses, PLUS win bonuses, PLUS appearance money, PLUS captaincy money, PLUS Brylcreem money for his hair.

When we paid the Rams £1.1 million for a 29-year-old Shackell, I thought the fee a just a tad high at the time since you only paid Barnsley £750,000 a year earlier, but it now - £120 mi

Not that I give a toss what you think you know, but Derby have actually paid "in the region" of £2.5 million up front plus add ons IF we get promoted that will take it a tad over £3 million.

SO as it stands Burnley have not got "over £3 million! But instead of obsessing over what a good deal you have done. I'd be worried that your club seems to be losing its best players after being relegated, which does not bode well for next season surely?

Lancey - the reality is that it's pretty much water under the bridge now. Derby are happy with gaining possibly the best left sided championship centre-back as it currently stands. Derby are happy because they have finally got someone to replace Jason Shackell c.2011 - ironically it is still Jason Shackell!
The price Derby have paid may seem high but clearly the Derby board have calculated the risk to rewards of the transfer and decided it's a risk worth taking. So we are happy as it stands.

Clearly Burnley are also ecstatic at the sale, 'an over the hill has-been who is clearly not worth what Derby have paid' right? Burnley are laughing all the way to the bank right?

So why the negative comments about the sale? Why is Sean Dyche not struggling to control his delight? Why are his quotes all negative rather than saying 'Yipee, do you realise we've just had Derby's pants down with that one!'
Surely if it's such a great deal there should be massive thanks to Shacks - as he's c

    Aw. Bless you lancyclaret.

You really are struggling to get over it aren't you? Those grapes are very sour.

How a few days have changed things. Last week he was your Shackell and now you are showing your juvenile mind and trying to insult by changings. Oh. The wounds...

Get a grip. Wait until you are a grown up and life throws you some real challenges. You really going to have to struggle up to cope with them if you react like this to your club selling a player.

Play with numbers and guesswork all you like if it helps. Just remember, it's all cobblers and fantasy.

Dry your eyes kid. You've got the long summer holiday to enjoy before you go back to school. Try another game of Football Manager. Pretend it's real. You'll feel better...

Oddly you seem rather unpopular on your own board too. Strange that. 'Incessant doom and gloom' I believe to be the remark...

Just in case anyone, Derby or Burnley fans, wanted to know why Derby have signed Jason Shackell for a 'substantial' fee. Watch this from the link.

Bearing in mind some of this was only last season (in an ever present season) I'm reckoning he is still capable of dragging his old bones on to the pitch more times than not as it stands - view external link

Lancyclaret The penny has dropped at last ive got it.Your actually in love with Shacks arnt you Your just like an Ex you cant let go Your trying to hide your feelings by spouting the same crap on here everyday get over it mate lovers move on.Nobody in Derby gives a suck about how much he cost nothing to do with us just keep your stupid figures to yourself. As for travelling an extra hour to training don't worry your tiny little brain about it .Hes already bought his new house in Duffield on the outskirts of Derby he will be at training ground in less than 10 minutes
