Disgusting. Loads of local authority investment into the infrastructure, value of the land goes through the roof, close the airport and sell the land at massive profit. Peel got form here. Same thing happened at Sheffield airport. Originally Posted by millertop

Back to Turkey next month, flying from Doncaster for 3 wks. So still open when we return. We flew with Get-Jet to Bulgaria from Doncaster, holiday booked with Tui, so the flight had to have a Tui rep on board in August, Get-Jet a Lithuanian company leased the plane to Tui. Pity Jet2 did not move to Doncaster. If Doncaster not viable, how does Humberside keep open, Not many holiday flights, so must be the haulage it does.

Whoever sold the airport on originally, didn't they realise what Peel group stand for? Or did they just want their quick slice of the £ notes and did one?
Those poor folk all about to lose their jobs. What a great friendly airport this is.....what a shame.
