I agree BFP. If Notts fans find themselves unable to get a ticket and yet we are giving 3888 tickets to Stags fans when we probably are only obliged to give them 10% then I think a explanation might be necessary.
Large numbers of visiting fans will only help their team. Are Mansfield going to give us 25% of their seats for the return fixture?
Of course Notts might make those front 3 rows of the Kop available and everyone who wants one can do so.

Hardy concluded that unless basically we became a championship club, all the extra bother would not be worth it for the occasional few games where we might exceed the current 17.500 level
We only gave Boreham Wood about 2000.
The same could have been done here. I hope it is the Police advice/instruction and not a money thing. Letting Coventry have all that side didn’t help us did it? Nor against Grimsby in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago.

Maybe it's something we could do in the future. Give away supporters no more than the 10% we are obliged to give them and issue the rest, (minus any partition), as S/T's/POTD for home supporters. It's prob not needed ATMIT whilst we are only getting attn's of 10,000+.

P:S. Wonder how many S/T's we sold this season? Anyone know?

Demand is high for this one, but there are still a good 1,000+ tickets left, 24 hours after they went on sale. I think we'll just about sell out (people waiting til they get paid etc.) but I'm not sure how many more we'd sell if we took 2k off the Mansfield allocation in the JS and gave them to Notts fans (even if we were allowed). I think the club have got this one right.

Yes, the numbers in my post are all from the safety certificate (at least the most recent one I can find).

It does seem strange that some Notts fans might not be able to go because we've given them so many tickets. I can only assume it's down to the issue of policing both sets of fans inside and outside the ground if we shared the Sirrel.

We're essentially giving them more or less a quarter of the ground in terms of seats on sale.

It's a bit generous to a club whose ground limits away supporters to about 20% of capacity, but I do think its important that clubs try to treat away fans generously - half the time our fans are on the receiving end. (I may eat my words for a future play-off game.)

Having an entire side of the ground is pretty damn generous and gives them a huge advantage compared to if they just had block Z of the Sirrel, for example. ML has been a fortress lately, but this is definitely playing in the opposition's hands.

They aren't getting the whole of the JS by any means, though. We're giving them 3,800 tickets to a stand that holds 5,775.

We should still have 13,900 seats minus what Sky steal.

ETA: If I read the safety certificate correctly, the theoretical away maximum if the Sirrel is segregated is about 3,300 - so we've not gone THAT much above.

So say 13,000 available for Notts fans? Will that be enough?
