I know the threads gone off topic a bit but....

Does a club like LUFC really fold and go away? Didn't Coventry City collapse a while back and now they are competing for the prem?

I do appreciate that Bates stepped up in a really bad time but tend to agree with Hopey that he milked it as his own cash cow after a while. I have nothing against capitalism (it creates a lot more wealth and freedom for the average person than any government or monarchy ever has) but football clubs are different than some crony capitalist company such as Google or Ford. The passion for a club is a million times larger than anyone feels for a corporation.

The fall from grace from the Prem he had has Chelsea cash but there were others in the background.

As such, you just don’t know but you did say he saves the club which I am pretty sure is a stretch at best.

A lot of what he did took years to unwind.
There was a Ken Bates Bermuda Triangle type of thing, no one could get answers, put many off looking to buy. The best thing Cellino did was to hire a forensic accountant to unravel it all

Indeed - I seem to recall that in at least one of the pieces of litigation Mr Bates was involved in the judge was trying to get to the bottom of who actually owned what at Leeds and whilst Kab had very clear opinions on everything else he was extremely vague and obscure on that.

I think Cellino also found things had sold off against future rights too.

It still pains me that he owned the club for a period of time. Radz was a million times better.

Add in Middlesbrough, Wimbledon and a few others that survived the ‘worst’
