    Saints slipping Halo apparently.

Not all good around the Dell according to the Southampton local Daily Echo.

"In football, a ‘vocal minority’ always shouts the loudest and, realistically, the idea of sacking a manager this early on is not one wholly shared.

The atmosphere at points during and after home defeats against Leicester City and Ipswich Town painted a worrying picture for what may come this weekend.

Saints are without a clean sheet in 11 at home and have won just two of their last 20 league matches at St Mary's.

Martin has stopped short of actually saying it but there is no doubt he has felt the pinch of external support over the last two weeks.

Only eight games into what is a long-term project following Martin’s appointment by new director of football Jason Wilcox, there are already mixed feelings."

'Jason Wilcox' eh, decent player for us.

Just goes to show how many factors and variables can affect performance of teams.

A lot had Saints to be nailed on to bounce back and they really are struggling at the moment and their much vaunted recruitment system and selling on players but seamlessly replacing them of the last 10 years seems to have gone a little awry starting with last season.

For new projects the one commodity they usually need - time - is rarely given in football.

Nothing against Soton but hope the malaise continues until after we have played them.

Norwich seem to be tripping up a bit and Boro we’re also fancied to be top 6 - as a long departed legend used to say - funny ‘ol game.

Latest stats out are stating Leeds have conceded 22 shots on target with Meslier saving 16 - only Millwall (21) have allowed fewer shots on their goal this season.

Leeds have also conceded the fewest total shots (79) compared to the rest of the Championship & are the only team conceding an average of less than 10 per game.

To put into context, the Saints are currently conceding 2.67 goals per match !

Southampton manager Martin’s philosophy in playing football is for his team to be possession-based, as the more his side can control the ball, the more they will, in theory, control the game. So far this season, they have averaged 67.7% possession, which is the highest in the division but with little reward.

So it's gonna be one of those cagey games again, for sure & hopefully a few moments of inspired individual skill will see us okay.

Keep saying it. You can have as much of the stats as you want it's what you do with it. To me having more possession means you're controlling the ball but eventually, you tire out and teams knock you off. Unless of course your City and you can bring on another half first team.

At least they are going down making money we loaned out Koch for the season and will get nothing at the end of it.

Never be keen on the idea of being critical of a club we are just about to come up against. Tempting fate for mine.

We always seem to bring the best out of opposition… especially keepers.

The makings of a trap game for us
