You do not turn down in excess of ?400,000 for a soon to be out of contract player, especially if he wants away as suggested. Absolute no brainer. The issue is trying to replace well at a late stage and for a reasonable price. The club did not try to but we know this is the approach, more long term, and that recruitment has served us very well so far Originally Posted by pjace

Think all this talk is pretty offensive. SS isn't as good as Bass - he's prone to a ricket when passing it out short but he's a decent shot stopper and he's experienced and knows the team.
I'd rather have him in goal than some rust bucket who's not trained properly for months.
