rA has it judged about right. In retirement I'm reasonably well off and can do an awful lot of things. 4 trips to Feurteventura in the past 51 weeks. 2 or 3 to Germany. One to Brussels. 10 trips to Blighty. Concerts. Meals out at least once a month. Can afford to feed and clothe myself well. Saved up enough to do a fair bit of sustainability on the house having ordered underfloor insulation and new windows to further reduce gas and electricity bills on top of the solar panels we fitted last year. Still have sufficient to cover any sudden needs if the central heating blows or one of the 2 cars needs replacing. Add in my pensions and 'er indoors salary and we'll be making as many trips this coming 12 months as well. Can't complain. In fact, if 'er indoors employer agrees to her working remotely, we might be overwintering on Feurteventura.

Would I mind paying a little more tax to improve services? No. Who knows when I might need a nursing home at some point in the future. Being a septuagenarian it's closer than for many of you. Age also brings more ailments that require medical treatment. The service over here is good but not perfect. No, a few bob a week extra wouldn't be an issue for me.

Farage becomes even more ridiculous if that's possible, claims to be "the real" politician, but demonstrates he is a spiv, a grifter a snake oil salesman for the dumb! Assessment of his "promises" see a cost of £75 billion plus, I mean Truss's ill thought out lunacy was only costed at £45 billion FFS!

IFS says Reform UK's plans 'don't add up' and would cost more than it claims 'by tens of billions of pounds per year'
The Institute for Fiscal Studies thinktank has published its assessment of Reform UK’s tax and spending plans and it says they “don’t add up”. And they are not just relatively unrealistic, it says. It says the costings are out “by a margin of tens of billions of pounds per year”.

He can say anything he likes in his manifesto, could promise to cure cancer and put a brit (a white one of course) on Mars by Christmas.

He's never ever going to have to be held accountable to it, likewise his campaigning for brexit, he was never going to have to sort it out.

With respect, if the "establishment" Had listened to Farages rants years ago, the pain would be less now. He predicted what cheap imported Labour would do to the country. So it has proven. GDP per capita drops 5 years running, to an all time low.
Starmer/Rayner complain about the lack of training/ investment in our own people, when their party started it FFS. You couldn't make it up,

Now they want the minimum wage raising again and all the Finance guru's are screaming foul! HSBC predict higer interest rates and more costs.
If only someone had thought of this earlier? Oh, wait a minute .............................

I'd be happy to pay 200 a year in extra tax if there was a certainty that it would be spent wisely and efficiently on your 5 elements rA. Especially, to square the circle - if those schools taught FBV!

But you know as well as I do that it's not that simple.

Of course it’s not that simple, I’m not saying it is…but if we want decent services then we have to be grown up enough to acknowledge that tax isn’t a dirty word and neither is ‘fairness’.

P.S. £200 was random…with all your wealth I’d expect you might have to pay more!

Someone posted this YT video on FB. It shows all of Farridge's "warts". Not fit for the dustbin, never mind office.

and yet, he seems a lot more trustworthy on topics than the other 2 muppets.

The campaign to discredit Farage, is going into overdrive as threat he poses to the staus quo is being realised.
Swale is squadren leader in here.

Even the civil servants think that death threats are ok. The very swamp that needs draining.

YOUGOV - More Britons think Reform UK is telling the truth on immigration than Labour and the Conservatives, new polling shows.

The survey reveals deep distrust among the public, with 52 percent of respondents saying they don't think Sir Keir Starmer's party is being truthful on the topic and 49 percent saying the same about the Tories.

Some 60 percent said they think Nigel Farage's party is telling the truth about immigration in the poll of 2,238 Britons carried out by YouGov for Sky News from June 14-17.

The poll comes as Reform has set out proposals for a "freeze" on non-essential immigration as well as a four-point plan to tackle small boats including quitting the European Convention on Human Rights and returning migrants who come over in boats to France.

Don’t usually value YT vids on forums but maybe this one should be on mainstream TV. Well done MA…always knew there was something I didn’t like about Farage.
