Can I ask why people would have got behind this plan if the organiser was the very group who arranged the ever increasing rent in the first place?

The Dundee supporters at the time were keen to buy back the title deeds of Dens Park from John Bennett. You might not have been keen on it and that is your choice.
Dens Park would have been held in a Community Interest Company the same as the current Dundee FC Academy Community Interest Company.

What Dundee supporters? There was no minuted dee4life board decision to meet with John Bennett and agree an increase year after year on the rent unnecessarily.

In fact the ridiculous rent was agreed and no attempt was ever made to buy dens, isn't that closer to the fact of it?

There was not any chance that Dee4life would go aggressive, imo. Don't think they had a proposal that could be an alternative to the new stadium.

I remember arguing that development of Dens would only work if new income streams could be generated. Never got anywhere, so it seems to me Dee4life are playing the long game and hopefully they will stick around. Would like to see them creating a rainy day fund raising option for supporters.

That happened because several of the Dee4life directors (not me) were more interested in jaw,jaw instead of enforcing the entrenched rights
of their A shares nominating Kenny Valentine as their Primary representative on the Dundee Football Club Limited board of directors.
The reply signed Dundee FC Ltd stated that the nomination would dealt with under the Club?s Articles of Incorporation.(American term).
At the Dee4life board of directors meeting in December 2022 I stated we should reply stating that we want our nominated Primary representative elected under the rules of the Dundee Football Club Limited Articles of Association but the Vice Chairman was against this. He wanted more dialogue with JN. The Dee4life Vice Chairman won the day and Dee4life subsequently got nowhere.

Understand that. Think they need more members. Not sure if being anti Nelms is in any way helpful to our club.

Being anti Nelms and wanting answers and more open communication is two completely different things in my book.

There are some Dundee fans (not you) who seem to think Nelms shouldn't be held to account or have a question and answer.....his attitude towards fans is poor.....unless he thinks he can get something out of them.

The fans seem to be a pain to him.

Try to put yourself in Nelms place. I have, and I would not be able, or want, to answer many of the questions asked by fans.

That isn't the same as giving him 100% for all his actions. Somehow there is a gap in our communications, and I agree with you that the only person who can fix that is John Nelms.

I think the way round it might be to use Gordon Strachan more. He is obviously heavily involved with our club and he might like speaking to the fans.

BBC Scotland The Nine were planning to broadcast at the end of October 2022 a article about the new stadium development at the former NCR Camperdown playing fields.
This was a month after the second Pre Application meeting held in the Landmark Hotel Dundee for new stadium development had taken place.
The Dee4life secretary at the time had been interviewed and BBC Scotland The Nine had contacted Dundee Football Club asking for an interview.
They never received a reply and the article was never broadcast.
Once again JN retreated into his bunker and waited until people gave up waiting for an answer.
In my opinion BBC Scotland The Nine should have broadcast the interview with the Dee4life secretary and stated that they had contacted the managing director of Dundee Football Club for an interview but at time of broadcast they had not received a reply.
That might have flushed John Nelms out of his bunker.

How does he know what the questions are?

Never mind though everything will be tickety boo when the stadium is built, full houses, European football, lashings to spend on the team......too many are clinging to this.

Cud just as easily be half built stadium, huge debt, nobody going.
